🐈‍⬛ Meet Keira.

He is a rescue cat from Japan who loves spending every day with his brother, Lime.

Shortly after we welcomed them into our family, Keira was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). He has an 8.9 mm hole in his heart, and the right side of his heart has become significantly enlarged. Open-heart surgery is the only treatment that can correct it.

Despite his condition, Keira is still a cheerful cat who loves life. My greatest wish is to see Keira and Lime grow up together.

There are several famous cat islands in Japan, but somehow this one had escaped us.

保護猫のキーラは、生まれつき心臓に8.9mmの穴がある「心房中隔欠損症」という病気を抱えています。

普段のキーラは元気で、兄弟のライムとよく遊び、何にでも興味を示す好奇心旺盛な、一歳になったばかりの猫です。
写真だけを見ると、重い心臓病を抱えているようには見えないかもしれません。

しかし、8月16日に開心手術を受けることになっています。

キーラが時折咳をするので検査したところ、猫では実例が少ない心房中隔欠損症（心臓に穴がある先天性心疾患）と診断されました。穴が大きく内科的治療ではなく手術を勧められています。経験のある方、何でもいいので教えていただければ幸いです。お願いします。
