I had an amazing time playing pick-up soccer with our membership last night! Grateful for the opportunity to connect with the community and feel the passion for the game.
Big thanks to the Arthur M. Blank team for welcoming us at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for such a memorable experience. #USSoccerAGM25
started by exploring goal kick visualization inspired by @Odriozolite, ended up going down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at pl gk distribution (& pressure's impact on it)
a brief thread:
this thread obviously just scratches the surface, with a lot more to be unpacked on the topic (even before using event/tracking data), but hope it was somewhat interesting!
feedback appreciated!
-teams go long against mu, bre, & cp even though they don't press much, perhaps due to perceived weakness at cb/dm?
-teams tend to have less touches in def 3rd against worst def sides (wat, nor, lee, new, lei, mu, etc): allow teams progress the ball into dangerous areas quicker?
