@ClimateBen To the average person, nobody bats an eye at such a small number. Even 2, 3 degrees if you aren't a met you think ok, so im going to go outside and it will be a couple of degrees warmer. It's hard to simply convey that no, in a given region it'll be more than that.
@LeonSimons8 I am surprised to learn we are in a very negative PDO despite an extremely warm north pacific all the way from Asia to NA. Summers have trended hot/dry on average here in the PNW for the last 10 years. What will change in the PNW when the PDO flips to positive?
Take that in. Then try wrapping your head around the fact that we’re only seeing the beginning of a destabilising planet, while remembering that GHG emissions are still rising and the companies largely causing this are making record profits.

@environmentca Has any consideration been given to creating a wildfire smoke warning for your meteorological service? It would convey more urgency than a special weather statement given how dangerous the smoke can be. Will continue to get worse in the future
