1/3 As warmer weather approaches and the August long weekend nears, there is no better way to spend the day in Saskatchewan’s great lakes and rivers than on the boat.
14 drivers did not ring in the New Year with a smile. 2 were arrested (1 for exceeding .08 and 1 for failing to give a breath sample) and lost their vehicles for 60-days. 10 were suspended roadside for exceeding .04 and lost their cars for 3-days. 2 were suspended for THC.
Over the past 3-days, we’ve been working with our RCMP motorcycle friends with a focus on cell phone offences (October is Distracted Driving awareness month). Over 100 drivers were charged with cell phone violations in that period. We have to do better. #GoPhoneFree
We worked with our friends from @RCMPSK traffic services this pm and charged more than 30 drivers with cell phone offences. 1 car was impounded as it was the drivers 2nd offence in 12 months. So far this month, over 150 drivers have been charged in the city for cell phone use.
Partnered up with the SPS Motor Unit today on cell phone enforcement. In three hours, 30 + tickets issued for use of cell phone by just 2 motorcycles. Driving is a full time job, please put your phones away. @SPSTraffic@SGItweets@RCMPSK
