ALASKA WILDFIRE EXPLODES IN HOURS FORCING EVACUATIONS

A fast-moving wildfire near Tok, Alaska has exploded from roughly 20 acres to more than 1,500 acres in just HOURS.

The Mukluk Fire is pushing through extremely dry vegetation toward residential areas, forcing Level 3 “GO” evacuations as residents are told to leave immediately.

Homes and other structures are now in the path of the fire as crews scramble to protect property.

Four helicopters, smokejumpers, engines, dozers and additional firefighters have been thrown into the fight as the fire continues burning east and northeast.

From 20 acres to more than 1,500 in a single afternoon.

That is an incredible rate of spread.
