On Sunday, we came together to commemorate the life of one of rugby league's greatest, John Kear.

Everyone in attendance was united in paying tribute to our former head coach, celebrating his achievements that have made the sport we love even better.

The world is a darker place without John, and we once again send love to his family and friends at this very difficult time.

Widnes Vikings are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former head coach, John Kear.

John was appointed head coach in June 2022 and spent a year with the club before departing in June 2023.

He was one of rugby league's most respected and admired figures, whose passion for the game, leadership and unwavering commitment left a lasting impact wherever he coached.
