@rubenbgoncalves All in all, I'd say that we should try to keep documentation dynamic and, when we can't, we should make it as short as possible. Automation is also a big component of this. If a process/task keeps occurring and you feel like it should be documented, maybe it should be automated.

@rubenbgoncalves In a perfect world, every piece of documentation would be a mirror of the actual truth. In API documentation we are very close to it with openapi. But that's not the case for most of the documentation that an org has/needs

@rubenbgoncalves However, I feel like async communication isn't going to solve the problem and can also become a problem really quickly, for a couple of reasons:
1. overly detailed documentation (gets outdated really fast)
2. A lot of documentation, which is almost the same as"too many meetings"

@rubenbgoncalves This is a really interesting problem. I guess the it is really about "how to share information". In meetings you're sharing it sync and in documentation (text/whiteboard drawings/etc) you're doing it assync.

In the same way, you need to evaluate if the time/money you're using to pay for the debt couldn't have a greater return if applied somewhere else.

Today I learned that technical debt is like financial debt with floating interest rate. Not all tech debt needs be payed immediately, maybe the rate is low enough for you to keep it around. But rates can vary overtime so you need to keep reevaluating. Thx @ampsantos0
