@MrSammyJames It might kill the competitive side of the cup as teams will probably always chose the money route, but I’ve seen it suggested before that once the draw has been done, the lower league team (if there is one) gets a choice between playing at home or away

@1966MJG @WhiteNoise1879 Sin bins work really well in every other sport. It’ll also take pressure off refs because it gives a middle ground between a yellow, which does very little to punish a player, and a red which generally ruins a whole game

@1966MJG There needs to be another type of set piece introduced if we go down that route. The advantage to the attacking team of a penalty is generally far more disproportionate to the offence committed

Interested in how they work out how much time to add on. 8 mins in the Portugal and ours, except we had 2 penalties and 2 goals in the second half, surely there should have been more?

@peterrutzler Wondering where the rest of the added time went though. Goal scored with at least a minute of it still to play. Plus Andreas injury meant there was no play for most of the first minute too.

I don’t understand how VAR recommends that as a pen. Surely it’s not clear and obvious error as the ref doesn’t see anything in the replays that he didn’t see in real time?

@jamie_drumlake @mattzarb I think that would be largely depend on which party is in government, as they may see this reduced police time as slack to cut to save money and use the increased tax to plug the gaps elsewhere. Maybe that’s just me being too pessimistic though 😂

@mattzarb Other than that, I’m largely for it. Just need to make sure that it doesn’t have any unintended consequences, and makes for a safer society in the long term
