When I worked in gov, it always amazed me the # of grants available to LEO’s specifically to acquire military equipment. Trimming what we have back to the trunk and regrowing our police services—sans the paramilitary aspects—is what it’s going to take.

@IAmElliot I still can’t believe the number of companies that haven’t gone through their automated programs and digital advertising to stop things like this.
I swear, watching POTUS during these pressers makes me think he has a bet going on to see how many platitudes he can weave in about himself, his administration and the situation.
A lot of people were like “Oh good, the President is taking charge of the response.” but I still maintain we’d all better off he went to Mar-a-Lago to golf for the next two months.

@Public_Citizen @aprildmullen That doesn’t change the fact that most Americans don’t receive paid sick leave on a regular basis. I just think it better to focus on facts instead of extrapolated data points.
American’s should demand paid sick leave at all times, not just during a pandemic—that I agree with.
@Public_Citizen @aprildmullen Just because these companies are over the 500 number in the relief bill passed by the house doesn’t mean they all are refusing paid sick leave. Kroger, specifically, announced they are offering 2 weeks of full pay for affected workers.
Here’s an email my team sent last week:
🎨 Beautiful design IMO
🎯 Properly tested email code
✅ All details QA’d
Total number of hours our “Email department” (aka, ME) spent on it: ZERO
This is what an email design system does for a team.

So POTUS took a test reversing his stand yesterday; he’s planning on declaring a national day of prayer; Google isn’t but is building a website; & more tests are but aren’t available. The perfect example of don’t host press if you don’t have new info or answers.
