Mac iOS 26 and macOS 26 are deeply disappointing. I thought I’d get used to them, but the design is just plain ugly. The glassy skeuomorphism feels distracting rather than sleek. Honestly, if I wanted clunky and awkward design, I’d go back to the Windows of my youth.
@timisnook@WokePreacherTV I think the difference is that I’m looking at this from the ground level. In my community, DEI represents opportunity and fairness, not some kind of imposed equal outcome. There are political differences about how fairness should be enacted.
@Brent_Kilman@WokePreacherTV It wasn't an issue for my congregation. They understood what I was getting at. I would've been more careful with my intro (more explanation) if I knew it was gonna end up on X. Sheesh.
@2think4once@WokePreacherTV Nope. You guys did that on your own. I specifically said that I am not commenting on the DEI political movement. WokePreacher even quoted that part. God does indeed value diversity. Some in this thread disagree.
@Brent_Kilman@WokePreacherTV I used the concept of DEI in my intro to a sermon about the church in Antioch where Peter refused to sit with Greeks, then modern-day application to racial and ethnic segregation and the gospel's call to die to self for the sake of Christian love. Very. Controversial. Stuff.
@un_conscionable@WokePreacherTV We are not defining "diversity" the same way. Quite simply, if we obey the second great commandment, we will be engaged in seeking diversity (as I am using the term). Love your neighbor without partiality = diversity.
@timisnook@WokePreacherTV Honestly, I did look it up and that's literally the dictionary definition. Cambridge: "the situation in which everyone is treated fairly according to their needs and no group of people is given special treatment."
@JoeInStLouis@WokePreacherTV@ZGroff Interesting perspective. I wish I could engage you a little more on this, but I'm gonna have to bow out. Appreciate the engagement. I may return to it later.
@RadioCarpenter@WokePreacherTV@brandonedwards Thanks for asking. We are in a college town with two HBCUs. Lots of fear that sweeping DEI cuts will end minority scholarships. A church member lost his job when a federal grant for developing minority-owned small businesses was canceled.
@RevDrBassett @WokePreacherTV I was just going with the Oxford dictionary definition of equity... "the quality of being fair and impartial." Where did you learn all this about DEI Culture?
@WokePreacherTV@brandonedwards At the same time, the current administration has taken to DEI with a sledge hammer that is creating unfair collateral damage, affecting people in my congregation. Thus, I referenced the pain they are experiencing.
@WokePreacherTV@brandonedwards I'm not trying to deflect or deny anything here. My reference to DEI was intended to reference the underlying virtues, not the political position. I attempted to communicate that, but I can see that it was unclear, esp. for a broader audience.
@brandonedwards@WokePreacherTV Well, in the next breath of the sermon, I turned it around and said, we don't need DEI, we need to DIE... and went on to preach the gospel.
@RadioCarpenter@WokePreacherTV "As they define them" -- I think this is a fair criticism, especially for a wider audience -- but this sermon was written for a specific congregation addressing Christian unity and diversity from Acts 11-14. The congregation does not value CRT. They don't even know what it is.
