As a longtime @Mets fan, I've witnessed many heartbreaking defeats at the hands of the @Braves and some memorable wins!
ATL has a great organization. And HOFer @gregmaddux owned the corners of the strike zone! But I couldn't ignore his tweet. ๐ #Mets#NYM#MLB#justthefacts
Mike Trout BAV/SLB/OPS is .263/.490/.857 thru 82 gm. Will likely be the first year in 11 seasons he'll finish w SLG/OPS < .500/.900, having over .500/.900 for his 1st 11 seasons. In 1st 8 yrs ('12-'19), Trout avg'd 642 PA, 110 RS, 35 HR, 92 RBI v 336, 54, 22, 47 since '21.
#Mets R awful & a humiliation. Yes, #Braves R the best NL teams. And @Mets players have woefully underperformed. But it's #CitiField. Play w pride! Outscored 34-3 in two days & going 1-23 w RISP is embarrassing. How bad is the morale in the #NYM clubhouse?
#Mets are 18.5 GB of the 1st place Braves. #NYM are 10 WCGB. They're 36-46, on pace to lose 30 more games than last season with the highest #MLB payroll. And they're only 2.5 GB of the last place Nats. In short, Mets are a horrible disappointment.
@CartonRoberts Not what Carton said, but close enough. NASA: "We have better maps of the surface of Mars and our moon than we do the bottom of the ocean. We know very little about most of the ocean. This is esp. true for the middle & deeper parts far away from the coasts."
@MaybergNathan@EvanRobertsWFAN There's the measure of a hitter. And there's the measure of a HOFer. Not sure if Polanco should have gotten some votes. Takes more than a good glove and .297 avg with lots of singles to garner votes. He was a versatile infielder.
@CMP_MD@jaxjm@BrandonTierney@ProFootballHOF @TikiAndTierney @TikiBarber@rondebarber@WFAN660 @TheHoffWFAN @Giants Fred Taylor definitely underrated RB who should be HOF. But hands down superior player than Tiki Barber? Tiki had 1553 more YScm + 1727 Ret Yd in 3 fewer RS. Unfortunately, FT only played two 16-gm seasons in his 13-yr career.
@HennySkyWalker@BrandonTierney @TikiAndTierney @ProFootballHOF@TikiBarber@rondebarber@WFAN660 @TheHoffWFAN @Giants I'd argue 68:53 is not 1:1. Tiki would have 10+ more TD if not for 270 lb RB (Brandon Jacobs). Tiki's other good RS ('02, '06) translated to 329 YScm (5.6 Yd/Tch) in 2 PS gm. Barry Sanders best RS ('94, '97) translated to 111 (2.8 Yd/Tch) in 2 PS gm incl. -1 Yd on 13 Att vs GB.
@BrandonTierney @TikiAndTierney @ProFootballHOF@TikiBarber@rondebarber@WFAN660 @TheHoffWFAN @Giants Let's not forget @TikiBarber had five 200+ rushing gm: three came in wk 17 w PO implications. His best/last RS gm @ WAS, 12/30/06: 23 ATT, 234 YDS, 3 TD. 2nd best RS gm vs KAN was wk 15, 12/17/05: 29 ATT, 220 YDS, 2 TD.
I miss the days when #GMen intimidated their opponents, even if they weren't the most talented team on the field. 1985 - 1990 #BigBlue D was unrelenting. However, Mark Bavaro was the toughest #Giants player during that stretch which incl. 2 SB wins.

@DanSchneierNFL Yup... I was frustrated with poor decision and Daboll's unwillingness to go for it on 4th & 6 yet he went for it in the 1st Qtr on 4th & 8 near midfield. And he under threw Slayton -- don't recall if it was the previous drive or next drive. DJ had a bad game.
