Former VP Leni Robredo, in a Facebook post, stated that Angat Buhay is actively collaborating with some of their partners to support rescue operations in NCR.
She encouraged everyone to unite once again in bayanihan for those affected by #CarinaPH.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR PETS TO SAFETY 🥺

I keep reminding myself and students to disseminate research findings especially on climate change and disaster risk and resilience studies, mainly because of the issues raised in this paper. As an academic from the Global South, I stand with the authors of this manifesto.
In a low-car city, human traffic flourishes in the gigantic gap left by the motor traffic; enlivening streets with activities all but extinct elsewhere.
This paradox fascinates and invigorates us: rarely can you experience urban places so serene, yet simultaneously full of life.
Word fact of the day: ‘penguin’ is one of the few words in the dictionary of Welsh origin: it comes from ‘pen gwyn’, ‘white head’.
(And a reminder that penguins were also once known affectionately as ‘arsefeet’.)
While Small Island Developing States (SIDS) emit the least, they are the most vulnerable to climate change.
Released at #COP28, an #ECSIS working paper provided recommendations on how the #GlobalStocktake can enhance access to adaptation finance for SIDS: https://t.co/EWx3NAd8Yd
Happiness is not about reaching your goals. It's about aligning your goals with your values.
Progress without purpose is empty. Achievement without impact is fleeting.
Success is most rewarding when it serves the people and principles that matter to you.
To celebrate the holidays this year, we've made a list of our favorite papers on Fermat's Library— the second one is "A universal law of procrastination" by Tomasz Durakiewicz.
Tomasz analyses how humans deliver under pressure to deliver on deadlines (e.g term papers, tax returns). Turns out the hyperbolic function provides a more accurate description of the "deadline rush" than an exponential function!

#BoldClimateActionIs ensuring that the voices of the communities on ground who are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, especially those in small islands, are considered in the negotiations, decision-making, and ways forward. #climateadaptation@ClimateWorks
I came up with the idea of designing an early career scholars program on the #GlobalStocktake almost a year and a half ago. Finally today we brought our #ECSIS Scholars from all around the world to @UMDPublicPolicy Thanks for our team @CtrGlobSust and @CEEWIndia and the guests!
I have been working with this group virtually for the past few months. This week, we get to finally meet in person to discuss the #globalstocktake in relation to issues on equity in climate finance, adaptation support in SIDS, and the spheres of influence of civil society actors.
Next week, CGS, @CEEWIndia, and @ClimateWorks at @UofMaryland will host the first-ever #ECSIS Workshop, where scholars from around the world will join us and experts to discuss the #globalstocktake, adaptation, finance, and more.

In celebration of the first-ever #WeekOfECSIS, we will highlight our scholars and their work all week long! Follow along with our discussions, research, and insight into the #globalstocktake

Every time someone says that 'reducing the role of the car will need radical changes' show them this.
Creating current car dependency was only possible with a massive, decade-long and destructive effort to erase the city as we knew it.

Approved by my kids ✅ Beautiful & clever book to help navigate important conversations w/ kids. A simple yet influential message about inequality and the power of collaboration & partnerships to overcome the challenges humanity & biodiversity face 👏@Ilustrajo

This image breaks me. At 2.7 degrees of warming, which is our present policy trajectory, two billion people will be exposed to extreme heat.
99.7% of those people live in the global South. People who have done nothing to cause this crisis. The injustice is staggering.
Heatwave in Europe
Mediterranean 5°C hotter than it should be
North Atlantic Ocean surface hotter than it has ever been.
Why are you not worried about this?
This is not weather.
This is shattering climate records
This is #ClimateChange
