@cj_annie Not a problem, it’s not a bee at all, but a bee mimic, which predates on solitary bee larvae. By colour it would appear to be a dark edged Bee fly. There’s plenty of info on them, which might interest you. Kind regards.

@jwood_t@Jipolay@LindaRo31062669 Yes, now I have looked at it properly, you’re right. Was thrown by the copper coloured body, and the effort taken to get back up. Thanks for taking time to post. Steve
Now I'm really too old to lay down on wet grass to take images, but given the time of year, thought this little chap, well worth the effort.. My wife first spotted him. It's late in the year to see a male Stag Beetle. Today. New Forest
When Nature does irony!
Nice to see it's June the First,
Winter, Spring have done their worst...
With balmy days and clouds all gone
Wait a minute...why's the heating on?
With apologies to any poet out there.

@niaga_hijau Strange that Twitter has decided to blank the image for potential graphic content. Lovely image. We have several in the garden. Predominantly ground feeders.
@SteveCaple4 Interesting image, had a quick look at the history of the shop in the background. Abel & Sons had a long history, before it closed in the early 1970’s. Located at 9, The Parade.
