It’s not at all scientific, but 1 & 2 score 77 & 61 on RT! 3 is where they likely become universally considered too bad to watch.

If their awfulness is entertaining, the fact that they're technically and critically bad is irrelevant to the audience. If an overwhelming majority of people fail to connect with a film, then by that metric it hasn't reached that goal.

@krippledkratos @PSYCHOV3N0M @SkylerShuler Good and bad are relative terms and markers of opinions not objective fact. A range of factors will determine if a person considers a movie good. Artistic merit is only one of those factors. My point is one person's opinion doesn't negate another's...

@PSYCHOV3N0M @QrispyCoasters @morrigant2002 @SkylerShuler It also depends where you get it… a generic frozen pizza can be pretty bad. There are good popcorn flicks and bad ones. Good and bad are subjective to the criteria used to measure them.

Of course, they don’t meet more objective markers of a competent, convincing, artistic film, but “good” can be measured many ways. There are good and bad B-movies.

@PSYCHOV3N0M @morrigant2002 @SkylerShuler This is semantic. Good & bad are subjective terms. To one, good means artistic shots, convincing acting, emotionally moving. To another it means fun and entertaining. Hence, “it’s so bad it’s good.” I get your point, but filet mignon and cheese pizza can be good respectively.

The Substance
A perfect blend of great performances, a serious message, and artistic aesthetic, mixed with absurdist levels of camp, body horror, and gore. I laughed, cried, and recoiled in disgust. There is nothing else like it this well made.

An innovative found footage film that presents the disastrous final episode of the 70s talk show Night Owls. The tension builds masterfully to a horrifying climax, and there are in-movie tricks that make you feel involved.
