*Engr. Rilwan Cook: A Quiet Light of Shared Prosperity in Kwara*
By Comrade Ishowo Olanrewaju
In every society, there are individuals whose impact is felt more in the lives they transform than in the noise they make. In Kwara State, Engr. Rilwan Cook Amode is one of such rare personalities. He is a man whose generosity speaks louder than publicity ever could.
Over the years, he has consistently deployed the prosperity Almighty Allah has blessed him with to assist, empower, and uplift many individuals, both near and far. I am personally among the notable beneficiaries of his kindness, which is why I refer to him as a man of shared prosperity. I appreciate him for being an instrument Almighty Allah has used to support and raise others.
His approach to charity reflects the timeless teaching of our noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said:
“Seven are (the persons) whom Allah will shade with His shade on the Day when there will be no shade except His shade…” Among them is: “A person who gives charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given.”
Engr. Cook exemplifies this rare trait of sincerity in charity. He does not give for applause. He does not seek headlines. And he does not give for showing off. No matter how close you are to him, you can hardly be aware of 30 per cent of what he gives in charity. He is that quiet and sincere about his acts of philanthropy. May Almighty Allah count him among those who will be under His shade on the Day of Judgment.
I know that as someone who does not give in to show off or media attention, he won't like this note of appreciation that I have made public. Yet, sometimes gratitude compels expression. This is why I was tempted and compelled to write this and make it public. Besides, several individuals who have benefited from his humanity cum Ramadhan package have reached out to me, asking that I should them appreciate him on their behalf.
This note, therefore, is not merely personal, it is collective. It represents the silent gratitude of many whose lives he has touched in ways only Allah fully knows.
There are well-to-do individuals who choose isolation and distance themselves from others, even their relatives and immediate community. The Son of Amode isn't one of them. He has chosen connection. He remains humane and accessible. He understands that true prosperity is shared prosperity.
As I do pray for him in secret, I pray that may his wealth continue to be a source of blessing, impact, and reward for him in this world and the hereafter. And may his quiet generosity continue to inspire others to give, not for recognition, but for the sake of humanity and the pleasure of Allah alone.
As we begin the blessed month of Ramadan, I charge you not to relent but do more for the sake of Allah. May He not deny you the rewards associated with doing good. I also pray Allah accept all your and our acts of Ibaadah in the month. Aameen.
N5.78bn Kwara UBEC Funds Spent On Salaries, Loans, Road Projects – EFCC Witness
The trial of former Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, and his commissioner for Finance, Ademola Banu, over alleged diversion of N5.78 billion Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) funds resumed yesterday with fresh revelations before Justice Mahmud Abdulgafar of the Kwara State High Court, sitting in Ilorin.
Testifying as the sixth prosecution witness, an investigator with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) , Stanley Ujilibo, told the court that funds released to the state government for 2013, 2014 and 2015 were not utilised in line with the action plans submitted by the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

I have known President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 1998. I know the man’s mind, his courage, and his conviction. He is not driven by applause, he is driven by results. And today, I can boldly say to you that he is on the right track.
For the first time in our nation’s history, we have a President who truly understands finance, who sees the economy not as a political slogan, but as a living organism that must be disciplined, deregulated, and allowed to breathe.
The painful reforms we face today are the very foundation of tomorrow’s prosperity. We are moving into a free-market economy, one that rewards hard work and innovation instead of dependency and distortion.
Look around you: under this administration, the appointment of the National Security Adviser has redefined our national safety architecture. Insecurity is being quietly and systematically dismantled. The Central Bank, now professionally steered, is stabilizing the economy, rebuilding confidence, and restoring the dignity of the naira.
Our foreign policy is again respected. Our fuel supply is deregulated. We will never again live through the humiliation of fuel scarcity. The numbers are beginning to speak, investments are returning, and the world is watching Nigeria rise again.
And beyond economics, Bola Tinubu’s infrastructural drive is unprecedented; from massive road networks to modernized ports, airports and housing schemes springing up across the nation. These developments are not just concrete and steel; they are the arteries through which growth and opportunity now flow.
I know it is still a difficult season for many families. But as history teaches, reform is never painless. Yet, it is in these moments of sacrifice that nations are reborn.
That is why today, I am joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), not for politics, but for progress. Because I believe that Bola Tinubu’s leadership, guided by courage and intellect, will deliver the Nigeria we have all dreamed of.
Mark my words: in the full term of eight years, Nigeria will witness phenomenal growth. I choose to stand with that vision. I choose to stand with reform. I choose to stand with the future.
Thank you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
– Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.
🔵 Moisés Caicedo this, Cole Palmer that.
One man who has performed more consistently than 𝗔𝗡𝗬𝗕𝗢𝗗𝗬 in the Chelsea team in 2025 is Enzo Fernández. 🇦🇷
✅ Most goals for Chelsea
✅ Most assists for Chelsea
It's not often you hear about his £106M price tag these days and that's because he delivers. He delivers goals, assists and he runs games in the midfield forming arguably the strongest partnership in the league alongside Moisés Caicedo.
