SCENES: a story 📖
We set out to build something that was an expermint:
Off platform
Crowd funded
Co-created
The success metric: EMOTIONAL CONNECTION ❤️
I made a chrome extension! It gives you a new SCENE a day as a way to encourage people to pause and reflect while also building out the scenes world a bit and practicing what vibe coding can help us with in terms of telling the story of our work
SCENES is an experiment in what music can be beyond streams—artist-owned, participatory, and built on real connection. 🎶
350+ memories, 6 songs, and a community redefining how we experience music.
Join the journey & and stay up to date with all my process:

Much love to @DecentialMedia for taking the time and energy to write this piece it means so much that there are still people out there taking time to do proper research and writing
@maceagon ❤️❤️
Read the full piece, it’s worth it x
Here is a thread I've made to communicate some of the ideas contained in @network_archive and how they can be applied to music careers!
its not always obvious as to how we step out side of our normal rhythm and this series of posts will give creators some new inspiration ❤️
Alternative Approaches to Releasing and Marketing that go beyond traditional methods, are just one of the things to learn from @networkarchives : including:
Collaborative mixtape releases: Artists can join forces with other musicians to create and release mixtapes, leveraging collective reach and promoting community involvement. @dotmvsic
World-building through visual art and multimedia: Artists can enhance their music releases with visual art, videos, or other multimedia elements, creating immersive experiences that extend beyond the audio itself. @CallMeLatasha
Incorporating real-world events and experiences: Artists can connect their online communities with offline events, creating unique opportunities for fans to engage with their work and foster stronger connections. @heyemmamiller
Engaging in innovative funding models: Artists can explore alternative funding mechanisms such as tokenized crowdfunding or fan-driven initiatives, empowering their communities to participate in their artistic journey and support their projects directly. @MdCL
Network Archives 001: A Directory of Inspiration is a 190-page digital zine featuring 29 project breakdowns from musicians and creators who are redefining what it means to build and distribute their work through experimenting with the artist audience relationship and participatory marketing. Born from conversations about the lack of creator-led documentation, it captures the experimentation, challenges, and processes behind their boundary-pushing projects. For creators grappling with the limitations of streaming and social media, it offers insights into building sustainable, independent creative identities in a rapidly changing landscape. The best people on @X have creative lives outside of the platform.
By shadowbanning links, @elonmusk is destroying much of the value of this platform—chasing away talented individuals and undermining the conversation in awkward, unproductive ways.
This is terrible kind of censorship and runs counter to the freedom of expression that is allegedly a core value of the @X.

This is a really important point in all this chat about club closures that often gets overlooked.
When I did my masters diss looking at the impact of club closures, the interviews I did with ex-staff from the Arches revealed a whole new perspective I hadn’t even considered…
