I think you could play some sort of game betting on how many times these women play with their hair is it required to do that to activate their brain cells like what?
@TaraDEndicott I noticed this too.. all the women in the magazines had to be small and the emphasis on having different bodily attributes that sometimes contradicted each other
The women in the bathroom talking about sexuality show the importance of the male gaze to them. They discuss how the eyes are a part of sexuality and how important it is the be seen by men… especially in a sexual way
@bronson_mia I was thinking the same thing. One minute she seems to want nothing to do with him then the next she tells him she may love him one day???
This film also consistently reiterates the notion that men have this dominance over women. In this film the men are allowed to say whatever they want and get away with it. The gender norm of the woman just going along with it continues
Wait is she his wife or a maid? Cause if she’s his wife and she just called herself a maid, that so enforces the gender norm of the woman being the one to take care of the home
From the start, the camera doesn’t really care so much about making close ups on the male characters when they are speaking. When the women are listening and playing with their hair or saying a few words, the camera is all up in their grill.
