It’s GAME DAY in Oxford, Mississippi! So proud that the eyes of the nation are on us today. Let’s show them why we are indeed the Best Small Town in America 🩵❤️
Sixty-two years and $22 trillion later, the U.S. poverty rate sits at roughly 11 percent, almost identical to where Lyndon Johnson found it in 1964. The government ran the most expensive social experiment in human history and produced nothing measurable. Bureaucracies perpetuate themselves, and this policy worked exactly as designed.
When Washington transfers purchasing power to the poor through SNAP, Medicaid, housing vouchers, and 126 other overlapping programs, it doesn't eliminate scarcity; it relocates decision-making from individuals to administrators. Those administrators develop career interests in perpetuating dependency, because a solved problem eliminates their department.
Free market thinkers identified this perverse incentive structure before Johnson signed the Economic Opportunity Act. Every dollar taxed from productive activity carries a deadweight cost before it reaches anyone's dinner table.
Capital formation lifts people out of poverty. You build wealth through savings, property rights, and voluntary exchange, none of which $22 trillion in redistributed spending actually produced.
FALSE. If Massie had succeeded, the DHS/border bill wouldn't have ALSO funded the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency - used by Biden to pressure social media platforms to censor TRUTHFUL information about COVID, Hunter Biden's laptop, and other alleged "disinformation."
We used to be against that.
You’re dragging your feet. We need congressional redistricting now to correct decades of unconstitutional representation. The fact that you don’t have an action plan ready to present to a special session is a failure in leadership.
As I said last week, there are a lot of moving parts and complexities to consider with respect to the next steps on redistricting in (at least) three separate and distinct areas:
1) Legislative;
2) Judicial; and
3) Congressional.
Each of these requires thoughtful consideration of all potential cause and affects and, in some cases, may even require further clarity from the courts.
Today, we got an additional piece of judicial clarity as the U.S. Supreme Court vacated the 2025 order of the lower court requiring Mississippi to redraw three state legislative districts. The U.S. Supreme Court has again recognized that race may not be considered in drawing legislative maps. They also remanded this case back to the original three judge panel - an opinion that we believe ultimately results in the 2022 legislative maps being reinstated.
This opinion and decision is another win for the principle that all Americans are created equal.
In Mississippi, we have much more work to do to get our maps fully fixed (in all three areas mentioned above) after years of unconstitutional requirements placed on the state by the lower courts. But… today is another good day for Mississippi and America!
The Lies About Rep. Thomas Massie - REFUTED!
Claim 1: Massie “opposed the SAVE Act,” requiring proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections.
Absurd — Massie has repeatedly supported the SAVE Act, He voted YES on the SAVE Act itself on the floor multiple times, and has publicly stated his support for voter ID/proof of citizenship to vote, and urged the Senate to pass the bill....
Claim 2: Massie “supported transgenders in women’s bathrooms.”
Utterly preposterous. Massie has NEVER supported any bill to allowing biological males in women’s bathrooms in schools, prisons, or federal buildings. ...
...
Claim 5: He hates Israel! (Also Ukraine, Taiwan, and other countries we’re lavishing with U.S. foreign aid.)
Massie votes against ALL foreign aid. It has nothing to do with hating other countries. Sixty-two percent of Republicans agree with him. ...
He cares more about our country than he does about other countries.
They arrested the President of the United States of America 4X, charged him 91X, indicted him 4X, spied on his campaign, sabotaged his first term, jailed his supporters, raided his private residence, censored him, gagged him, tried to bankrupt him, and attempted to remove him from state ballots.
When all of that failed they tried to assassinate him not once but four times.
And they go on national television to talk about how we need to vote for them to save democracy.
