@ABDszn17 No trolling for the catch. Wild throw for 5 within 2 balls of first wicket had fallen, is genuinely wildly shit for a non runout chance. That’s all the pressure off and minus more.
@the_cricketest Would it be possible to compare ER of 3 overs after the first. As say if he goes for 20 in his first and 20 in next 3 it’s still 10 RPO, but if he bowls a maiden in 1st and goes for 30 in next 3 that would be 7.5 RPO and look better in this metric, despite bowling worse post 1st
@ROB_Robireland What do you think of Tuipulotu’s comments as a leader? Personally think they are some of the most honest and frank I’ve seen in years. Would you sack him?
I'm at a loss - England spent three years whacking it and then got a flat one at Adelaide and blocked it and now on a shit tip here and nicking off defending. Don't get it
It’s pretty clear England are significantly better under McCullum than they were before, doesn’t mean he should stay but saying there has been no improvement is unequivocally false.
I’m as upset as anyone about how England have gone in Australia, I’ve got tickets to both Melbourne and Sydney and was in Adelaide.
This tweet though deserves scrutiny, not only are the numbers wrong but they are selective.
@MatthewStadlen@DPJHodges@GeorgeDobell1@MichaelVaughan@philtufnell@StuartBroad8 England's biggest series before McCullum
Ashes at home 2-2
India Away 1-4
India Home 2-2
Ashes Away 0-4
(3 series in covid bubble)
England's biggest series under McCullum
Ashes at Home 2-2
India Away 1-4
India Home 2-2
Ashes Away 0-3 with 2 to play
England have not improved!
@Tilda149@GeorgeDobell1@MatthewStadlen@DPJHodges@MichaelVaughan@philtufnell@StuartBroad8 Well conveniently you have added a test win under McCullum v India to the series before McCullum. (Was 1-2, the 2nd test was won with McCullum)
NZ only side we played home and away under both Silverwood/McCullum
Before
0-1 at home
0-1 away
After
3-0 at home
2-1 away
@OutsideCricket Your comments on data are incredibly out of touch and speak to being ‘outside cricket’.
You talk about adding context to data, that’s what ball tracking data does, cricket is behind other sports on this.
Data being subjective does not mean it isn’t useful.
@ROB_Robireland Why is this an issue for Scotland? We don’t have a third pro team, national team is only available to coach for months of the year, and GT knows all players. He spends time each year with other coaches to try and boost Scotland, is signing Scottish players to Newcastle worse?
@RugbyInsideLine I’m struggling with the idea that an England hooker with 3 caps, is better than a Scotland one with nearly 50. Or his younger countrymen who have both played for England more recently, or a more recently capped Springbok hooker.
