Last week, Penn contested Research Associates and Postdocs’ petition to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) seeking a vote on whether to form a union. This resulted in a pre-election hearing at the regional NLRB office. Here's some of their claims...
UNION BUSTING ALERT: After a supermajority of the 1,500 research associates and postdocs at Penn signed over 1,000 cards in support of forming our union, RAPUP-UAW, Penn is now contesting our right to unionize.

WE WON! This week, over 2000 Penn grad workers cast ballots. After eligible votes were tallied, the final count was 1807 to 97. It's official. The majority of eligible voters turned out to the polls. Penn graduate workers have resoundingly declared: WE WANT A UNION AT PENN!
@OleksiiShandra@jdpereira Wealthy universities should be able to cover these increases through central funds (billions in endownments, etc) but they will hem and haw about how that isn’t possible (it is). Decreasing overhead costs for PIs would also solve part of the issue.
