@MorganLaidler The problem with the Oilers loss is the two stars made the comments about teams failures after the series and set the storyline. They didn't want to call out all the injuries. Though if Oilers were healthy they were a much better team then Ducks.
@oilersgm2 He is not awful, but way overpaid. Problem is he has total control and he is not going anywhere he does not want to. His teammates seem to back him staying. If willing to trade Oilers won't get great value unless pay a good chunk of his cap.
@oilersdailyy It's entertaining but not realistic. First the oilers need to get first round pick back and they really have nothing to trade for that or would hurt their depth. Then they would waste all their cap on one free agent and not a defensemen or goalie which is their biggest need.
@jeresells@lime_green It's a ten team trade list. So he chooses the 10 teams he can be traded too. He could easily pick 10 teams who would never trade for him. If rumors are true that McDavid and Draisital don't want him to go then he is going nowhere.
@ZofiaSafin They probably can't have that either. Would open up cases of tampering all over the place, teams could offer guys $ if quit. This would have to be mutually agreed to by both parties. I think that agents for coaches are going to be changing the contracts of coaches from now on.
@beatitkooks@Harian_Mossa@FriedgeHNIC I hope you are right about biting them in the ass, but feels like they get away with whatever they want and just come out ahead.
@NHLHodgkinson Vegas is pretty much hated by most other teams fans for how they manipulated the cap for years (live in Edmonton and I know they are hated here). They have never cared about any of that stuff and their fans don't care.
@beatitkooks@Harian_Mossa@FriedgeHNIC But it has happened in the past, teams have said no and therefore the precedent is it is teams right. I think it is complete shit and he should be able to sign somewhere else. But I also think the coach should not be able to still get paid if takes another job.
@beatitkooks@Harian_Mossa@FriedgeHNIC Precedence is that teams have to give the coaches permission. Leafs just gave Oilers permission to speak to Berube.
@Harian_Mossa@FriedgeHNIC They can refuse until his contract is over. Classless, but legal. Maybe the teams can offer to cover full contract if hire or something to make them change there minds. Sounds like Vegas won't pay anything for Cassidy to coach against them.
@LockedNHLBruins Sounds like they want a commitment from teams to cover the full $4.5 million. They won't let him talk to anyone without that. Not a fan of what they are doing but they are not going to pay anything for him to coach against them.
@RachelKryshak At the same time team never was in great shape with the cap under his groups management ever. Always scrambling and overpaying players. Not sure knowing all the rules saved the team that much. Had to continue to dump picks to get out of bad signings.
@ngreenizan Nurse is not a horrible player, just way over paid. He cannot be in your top 2 but is okay as your 3-6. At 4 or 5 million is fine. I don't know why he would accept a trade to Vancouver though. Full no trade for another year and not going to bottom team at this point.
@NHL_Sid You don't think it had anything to do with half the forwards playing injured? There is no coaching fix for defense and goaltending not being close to good enough. Pacific is brutal division and if Oilers were healthy I think they walk through it even with there deficiencies.
