Another positive set of Northern Ireland labour market statistics from @NISRA. Unemployment still under 4% at 3.8% (UK 4.7%) in Q2 2021. HMRC payrolls data up again in July by 1.1% m/m to 762,596. That’s a big surge of +7,927 in 1 month as economy continued to reopen.
Latest @NISRA report outlines continued challenges for young people -Youth unemployment standing at 12.0% with a NEET’s rate of 10.4% - that’s 21k NI young people not in education, employment or training. The youngest in our workforce are more than 4 times likely to be unemployed
The August Labour Market Report published today contains indicators from the Labour Force Survey, Claimant Count, HMRC Payroll, and Redundancies.
