@RGIII@mikestaton1 Yes, for sure, players deserve pay. But that doesn’t fix the problem of money flows.
A school is a publishing house. Players need it to broadcast their value. That’s why lower tier players transfer up.
In other words, they need each other and both have financial stake.
@RGIII I mean, yes, of course. Coaches are not exempt. They deserve just as much scrutiny.
But the problem here is that coaches have contracts TO the school whereas players don’t.
A player is linked to a 3rd party deal which is unlinked from their commitment or performance.
@MedcalfByESPN Agreed. A student and university’s “choices” are driven by the available options.
And options are lopsided: players were denied income and now have zero contract responsibility b/c they are paid by a 3rd body with disconnected performance and commitment expectations.

@GeraldoRivera And what good would that be?
Seems like all we peasants learn is that the royals want to arouse conflict, pacify it for more power, and all the while remain exempt from consequences.
Meanwhile, royals champion and apply justice and order to us peasants.
Is this your “good”?
@Vol_Football I have never been interested in this uniform variation nonsense but I would LOVE for these orange helmets to be the baseline standard.
Thin the T and narrow the center stroke…classic.
@JackPosobiec My daughter once asked four years ago: where are the kids?
(We had been watching lots of mr Rogers at the time and there are kids around all the time in his explorations)
We have not watched Blippi since.
@TulsiGabbard Lots of folks are focusing on the word “god.”
I don’t know what you mean by “given” & “us.”
That’s what theologians and political theorists debate and that’s what’s at stake: how does divine sanction settle on a group of qualified people?
This is why we rejected kingship.
@woahjoy@lhfang@elonmusk Speech inside a private platform is not public speech. It’s a good or service in which the government sees public effect and value.
Thus, I don’t see how this negotiation is any more “direct” than influencing drug companies or food distributors or the farming industry.
@0Tamahawk3@lhfang@elonmusk Oh good grief.
1) the fbi has recommended HBiden to the DOJ
2) HBiden is a red herring
3) this isn’t the argument—governments downplay stories ALL THE TIME for prosecutorial or political reasons (not that I like it)
4) government interest is not fascism
@Glasseye31 @Populist_Wisdom@lhfang@elonmusk These are crude over simplifications.
And when you oversimplify anything you can apply it to any regime of choosing.
Parents could even meet this definition.
@Zaggs@InfuseMe@lhfang@elonmusk The FDA makes you have a nutrition label IF you want to sell in commercial environments. They regulate the environment not the food.
This isn’t even that far.
“Fascism” is a distracting sideshow. What matters is: what counts as reputable and trustworthy?
