I just called SLC, and I was advised as follows:
"If you have repaid in full, self-assessed customers who have already repaid their loan in full are not required to complete the student loan section of their self-assessed tax return. SLC will issue a stop notification to HMRC...
@HMRCcustomers I am filling out a self-assessment for the 2022-23 financial year. I had a plan 1 student loan at the beginning of that financial year, but I repaid it in full during that financial year through voluntary repayments.
@HMRCcustomers Yes I did. But those deductions ceased during the 2022-23 financial year because I made sufficient voluntary payments to repay the loan in full.
@HMRCcustomers Not sure I understand what you mean by "the correct option" and which question in particular you're referring to? And I can confirm that my employer received the notification in 11/2022.
@HMRCcustomers I would imagine so because my employer stopped deducting my student loan from my pay during the previous financial year. But I can check that today.
...for customers who have repaid in full. THerefore HMRC will not bill them for any student loan repayments."
I know my stop notification date thanks to the advisor on the phone.
I will therefore answer the question as "No" in my tax return.
