@GoodWillsmith life experiences at a young age can make this music appeal to you & have you blaring it in the kitchen at 3:00 am. I get it tho, at middle age it does feel like it’s coming from a different impetus.
Line cooks will be coming in to Sonos Stereolab blaring today 🙏
Mavis Staples put out an astonishing record last year, and to my thinking, despite Leonard Cohen, Gillian Welch, Tom Waits, and a (sort of) Bob Dylan cover, it's the Kevin Morby number that's the centerpiece. This live version with him is quite all right.
Every time I remember Ian Curtis, I also think about the other band members in joy division and how young they all were when he passed. My youngest brother has a severe form of epilepsy and my other sibling and I were with him often during seizures, my heart goes out to them all
Today we remember lan Curtis, whose voice, words, and presence continue to echo through generations since his passing on May 18, 1980 - forever missed, forever heard.

Played “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey, accompanied by the sound of clinking of glasses, during my second set at the Blue Tavern in Tallahassee the other night. Some of my favorite recordings have clinking glasses. First time playing this one out!🥂
Many musicians think that most people are destined to be musically ignorant, but I know that there is a spark in every person which will respond and glow to the touch of beauty. Because I know this, I am going to continue presenting beauty.

@GoodWillsmith Thanks for this 🙏, can’t wait to play this for my son after school today. He’s been obsessed w Toby Fox all school year and I am so burnt on hearing remixed Undertale scores. nothing I have played for him has cracked it but I admittedly have no basis of judgement in this genre
Throwing it back to Joni’s performance of “Woodstock” the Isle of Wight Festival in honor of the anniversary of ‘Ladies of the Canyon,’ released 56 years ago this month.
For my Lagniappe Session, I recorded four solo guitar covers of songs by four of my favorite singers: “Cross Bones Style” by Cat Power, “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey, “Birthday” by The Sugarcubes/Bjork, and “Tonight” by Sibylle Baier.
