Lost my brother 25 yrs ago in the South Tower. "Lost"- not an ounce of his DNA was ever recovered.
Vaporized into thin air.
His father escaped, he did not.
Physical is gone, the memory remains.
Bless the victims & families who continue to grieve. #NeverForget 🇺🇸 @RutgersU
Firefighters in the World Trade Center Plaza retrieve a note that fluttered down from the top of the South Tower.
It was written by Randy Scott, who is trapped on the 84th floor. He is pleading for help for himself and 12 colleagues.
Bloody fingerprints coat the paper.
A quarter of a century has passed since September 11, 2001, when the peace of our Nation was shattered by terrorists.
Today, we remember the 2,977 precious lives taken from us, honor the heroes who answered the call, & keep their families in the heart of our Nation.
Above all, we must ensure the memory of 9/11 never fades, but is carried from one generation of Americans to the next.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸
@MicrosoftTeams why do call logs not appear in the chat?
A dedicated call tab is great but terrible for tracking the chronology of events.
Also I don't see a lot of missed calls.
Most backend engineers can build APIs.
Very few actually understand the system design concepts that keep those APIs alive when real traffic, failures, scale and users enter the picture.
10 system design concepts every backend engineer should know:
1. Caching
2. Load Balancing
3. Database Replication
4. Sharding
5. Message Queues
6. Rate Limiting
7. Circuit Breakers
8. Idempotency
9. Distributed Locking
10. Event Driven Architecture
I’ll break them down properly below
Currently studying for the CompTIA Security+ certification and grateful for everything I’ve learned so far. Hoping to earn my Security+ before finishing 11th grade!!
most people who build business fail because they confuse distribution with demand. Demand will always exist. People luck into distribution. But the people who thrive, with seeming the worst product figured out that...
... distribution is king.
I am more interested in how these guys come up with “apps” as the solution to our problems. These guys are not stupid, neither are they working in silos. They have access to multiple stakeholders. What are the mechanics for arriving at “we need an app”. I really want to know.
