Here is a lovely statement from the Academic Council of the Jewish Voice for Peace. It concerns the controversy over my recent remarks to the graduating class @UMich.
Many thanks to @jvplive for this insightful text.

Israel cracking down on foreign media reporting of its harsh practices in the occupied West Bank, with police recommending bans against foreign journalists whose coverage they determine is harmful to the country’s standing @benlynfield

I wrote about the biggest story in Israel-Palestine that you haven't heard about: a landmark vote in the Knesset that would effectively annex large parts of the West Bank--and potentially Gaza--through antiquities legislation. This is what annexation actually looks like. 🔗👇
"Repression of this kind works by making an example of a few individuals. One high-profile deportation does the work of a thousand policy memos, at a fraction of the cost, and with little political accountability because the targets are noncitizens."
"[Columbia's] complicity reflects whose interests the institution of the modern American research university actually serves. Columbia has a $14 billion endowment, a board composed largely of financial and corporate elites, and a history of prioritizing institutional stability over faculty governance and student rights. When the federal government and the donor class align against a group of student activists, the administration’s calculus is not difficult to predict."

We’re hiring! JVP is seeking a Deputy Political Director who will grow and lead a multi-layered, cross-country, grassroots-powered electoral program that leverages one of the largest bases of progressive Jews in the U.S. into effective and strategic electoral campaigning, for the sake of building power to advance the demands of the movement for Palestinian rights and freedom.
Applications are due by May 31.

This is an IHRA violation: Holocaust Studies Scholar Dr. Marianne Hirsch cannot do her research under the IHRA definition.
IHRA effectively bans comparing Israel’s genocide in Gaza to other genocides, including that of the Nazi Holocaust.
"Love Jews Hate Zionism."
"A GENOCIDAL ISRAEL IS BAD FOR ALL JEWS."
"Judaism saves, Zionism kills."
A sample of what the ADL is counting as antisemitism — in data that lawmakers often cite to justify cracking down on speech or sending more aid to Israel:

Israeli officials have defended their new restrictions on N.G.O.s in Gaza as necessary to insure Israel’s security. “This is about silencing organizations who are documenting human-rights violations,” an employee of the Norwegian Refugee Council said. https://t.co/CDriopgJWl
How UCLA's Antisemitism Task Force lies w statistics:
1) Conduct an non-representative survey of Jews that recruits at Hillel & Bruins 4 Israel
2) Cite this non-scientific study as if it were representative.
3) Ignore real polls showing young Jews are increasingly anti-Zionist
From Shamai Leibowitz:
For the @UMich administration, "honoring a suffragette is commendable, celebrating a Jewish pioneer is admirable and praising Black students’ struggle is noble. But dare to suggest that Palestinians, too, possess human rights

The Rutgers faculty Senate plans to vote on a resolution censuring the Dean for cancelling the address by @RamiElghandour. From the resolution:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Rutgers University Senate finds Dean Alberto Cuitiño’s handling of this matter to have been one-sided, opaque, and harmful to students, faculty, alumni, and the reputation of Rutgers University; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Rutgers University Senate formally censures Dean Alberto Cuitiño and calls for a formal review of Dean Alberto Cuitiño’s leadership in this matter through appropriate shared governance processes involving central administration, the Office of Chancellor Francine Conway, and the faculty of the School of Engineering.
Today, the @nytimes chose to publish one of the worst blood libels ever to appear in the modern press.
In an unfathomable inversion of reality, and through an endless stream of baseless lies, propagandist Nicholas Kristof turns the victim into the accused.
Israel - whose citizens were the victims of the most horrific sexual crimes committed by Hamas on October 7, and whose hostages were later subjected to further sexual abuse - is portrayed as the guilty party.
This publication is no coincidence. It is part of a false and well-orchestrated anti-Israel campaign aimed at placing Israel on the UN Secretary-General’s blacklist.
Israel will fight these lies with the truth - and the truth will prevail.
This is the due process the administration is offering me, corrupt and unprecedented:
"Internal board documents obtained by The New York Times show that the case was considered high priority even before the board officially received it.
“Please process as quickly as possible,” said another note, from October. Another document shows that the court’s chair — its highest ranking member — oversaw the case from early on."
This story proves that the Trump administration's treatment of my case has always been corrupt and retaliatory. They put me through a sham immigration process while guaranteeing the outcome in advance.

I just wrote a @theactionnet letter: Demand Rutgers to Honor their Commitment to Diversity and Academic Freedom and Reinstate Rami Elghandour as Convocation Speaker. Write one here: https://t.co/U20pB5mr4j
The New School student government is suspending student funding for the campus Hillel chapter.
They cite programs sending students to support the IDF, including units that killed a 78-year-old American, and killed 15 Palestinian emergency workers & buried them in a mass grave.
