I don’t have a problem with the deistic position. In fact, deism recognizes an important starting point: that reason and the evidence of the universe can point toward an intelligent Creator. Where I differ is with the assumption that this Creator made everything and then simply walked away. What evidence demonstrates that God must be completely uninvolved with His creation?

I also don't dismiss the countless events people describe as miracles every day—unexpected recoveries, extraordinary coincidences, answered prayers, near-death experiences, and events people believe have no ordinary explanation. Not every unexplained event proves divine intervention, but collectively these experiences at least give us something worth investigating rather than automatically ruling them out.

Christianity then goes further than deism by making specific historical claims about Jesus, His life, death, Resurrection, and God's interaction with humanity. Those claims can be examined on their own merits.

So my issue isn't with deism's belief in a Creator. It's with stopping at the Creator and assuming, without further argument, that He never interacts with what He created. 🙏✝️
