Happy half term to all our students 🖤 Miss Edwards is busy today preparing the library for your return, including preparing even MORE book review sheets and making some fun new bookmarks for you all to use. See you in November!
Tomorrow (26/09/2025) is European Day of Languages! 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇬🇷🇮🇪🇮🇹🇵🇱🇷🇺🇪🇸🇺🇦🇬🇧
To celebrate, any student who borrows a book from our Highlights section will receive six stamps for their planner ⭐️
Thank you to @ReadforGoodUK for their incredible book donation - our students have had great fun on their first day back at school deciding which to borrow first!
We look forward to welcoming all our new and returning students tomorrow!
The library will be open before form for all students, during morning break for Y7 to Y9, during dinner break for Y10 and Y11, and after school for all.
Big news! 2026 has officially been announced as the National Year of Reading by @bphillipsonMP.
We’re proud to join @educationgovuk to lead this national campaign to get the UK reading again.

Last week, wonderful volunteers from @TrumanBooks, @philiphowardbks, & @holdfastleeds gave a series of fantastic talks and allowed our students to browse and buy from their stock.
Our students had a brilliant time speaking to our visitors and designing their own bookstores!
Thank you to all of the very kind students who have donated their old books to the library this half term - Miss Edwards has been blown away by your kindness and generosity, and the other students are already looking forward to reading them!
Thank you to the amazing @TshepoBrown3 and @Literacy_Trust for the #NationalPoetryDay2024 workshop they delivered on Tuesday! Our students loved seeing poetry in a different context, and challenging each other to find the most rhymes.
@mrsbettysbooks@Literacy_Trust@AmazonUK Signed up for their World of Graphic Novels challenge and was successful in the book ballot! https://t.co/UukKlnmGAs
We adore the NLT and their challenges here - between them and Booktrust, we’ve been very lucky over the past few years with free events and resources!
Thank you to @Literacy_Trust and @AmazonUK for their kind donation of these fantastic graphic novels and mangas! Our students are so excited to read them.
Last week, Miss Edwards & Miss McCabe were thrilled to take 12 Law Society students to London as part of our Enrichment++ programme. Our students were treated to a fantastic tour of the Houses of Parliament and workshop looking at petitions and democracy.
