@DannyMarang Role aside, I just want 'Tisse on the team. So well spoken and thoughtful in his answers, and you can see that he appreciates and loves his life. Dude is always smiling. He has to be a steadying presence in a locker room.
@DannyMarang Definitely had the vibe of a guy processing a brutally honest performance review. Hope he can use it to improve his mental approach and harness the natural talents.
@Super70sSports Upon moving to the south from Oregon a decade ago, I asked a coworker what the heck they were. "Deep fried breaded bread" was the apt description. And man they are tasty when made right!
@DannyMarang I don't know how anyone could listen to that dude talk and come away thinking he was anything but just really likeable. Certain people you just like to be around (even if you are a natural grump like me), and he's really seems like that kind of guy.
@DannyMarang Hey, good on you. I believe in karma. I also believe in giving karma a little nudge every so often, because sometime the rest of the jackasses need to see bad things happen to bad people. Keep pulling those receipts!
@smthrockavenger@evanempdx And the reports of other small market GMs in Cronin's ear encouraging him to take a hard line put him in an even tougher spot I think. A new GM, trying to not get fleeced in the most public trade in franchise history, with multiple entities publicly working against him...
@smthrockavenger@evanempdx But Cronin messed up early when he indicated they'd always be happy to have him on the team if he changed his mind. Cronin trading him to Miami was a no-win situation, so I'm not surprised he got salty with the agent.
@evanempdx Well put. I think this is more or less how things went down, with both sides trying to save face after early PR mistakes. Ultimately, I think things ended up where they needed to be, but IMO an unprofessional agent and inexperienced GM complicated matters visually.
@highkin Thought he did very well today in being transparent where possible and not throwing any unnecessary fuel on the fire. Painful as it is, being patient IS the best for the team.
@highkin I'm really glad they retained Matisse. You can tell from him joy during the press conference that you'll get from that guy whatever he has to give.
@GoldnerPDX @ZachLowe_NBA Couldn't agree more. He's my go-to for common sense NBA talk without the usual "hot take" mentality that it seems ESPN prefers these days.
@DannyMarang I had a similar experience years ago on a flight from Bend, OR to Vegas. Visited with a very cool dude sitting next to me the whole flight. Saw his face on a gym ad entering the baggage claim area and realized it was Randy Couture. Had a beanie on that hid the ears. π€·ββοΈ
@CHold It would be the funniest possible outcome given how bad ESPN wants to get to Wemby right now. I think they've spend as much time on him standing in the tunnel as they have the game in the 4th quarter.
