Kanata was already deaf in one ear before she joined Hololive. Her condition also includes severe vertigo and tinnitus, and she’s so physically fragile that even a mild sickness can hit her really hard. She takes five or six different pills every day. It wasn’t until her fifth year in Hololive that she finally stopped needing to take a total 2–3 months of hiatus in a year due to prolonged/multiple sickness.
The insane amount of effort she puts in to sing and improved to such high level, or more simple, just to stream consistently like other talents can never be fully appreciated. Unforunatly it is easy to overlook it because she way wayyyyyyy too tough for her own good and seldom share about her difficulties to her friends or us fans as she dont want to dampen the mood for the others. (Remember Korone, one of her best buddies in Hololive, wrote "Please let me stay your friend, so that we can reach a point where you can be honestly to me and tell me 'I'm hurting.'" in the descrption in their finally collab despite they have already spent 6 years together?)
“It will just make everyone sad, so why mention it?” is what she always says. Still, she’s too responsible to vanish without notice and make us worry. On the rare occasions she opens up, she will turn her suffering into humor — such as the time she laughs about her eardrum being penetrated by freaking a needle, or her famous kidney stone press conference.
So seeing Ina cry here really touched me. Ina very likely had come to understand just how remarkable Kanata truly is, even beyond what she had previously imagined, and she expressed that profound respect through her heartfelt performance.

Genuinely the worst sleep I've had in my entire life. Waking up every 15, 30 minutes. Barely a few hours of actual rest. I'm definitely getting caffeine later
