Yesterday in the House Public Health Committee we heard SB 1, a rerun bill which has two main effects.
1.) Ties our hands for future public health response
2.) More broadly undermines public trust in ALL vaccines, not just the COVID vaccine
This flawed bill barely passed, 8-9.
My statement on SB140:
"Simply put, SB140 amounts to state-mandated malpractice.

And what patient would prefer their medical care be directed by a politician rather than a doctor?"
Went from DO day on the hill as MS2 with @NationalSOMA ➡️ House of Delegate for @AOAforDOs ➡️ HoD at @MAG1849 ➡️ GAMPAC. <5% of GA Representatives have medical backgrounds, yet they decide the future of GA healthcare. Talk to your local Representatives!

@Delta I waited 5 hours for my flight with minimal updates, then when I scan my ticket to board, it says I got bumped to the next flight putting me 7 hours behind. There were confirmed empty seats on that flight yet they said i couldn’t get on due to “error.” Why?
Thanks so much to those of you wearing your masks, getting your vaccines, being thoughtful & courteous about limiting spread. Hospitals are in a rough spot these days and every bit helps.
Colon cancer screening has been lowered from age 50 to 45 in the past few years by ACS and USPSTF but did you know that for Black patients, ACG recommended screening at age 45 all the way back in 2005? #BLM#medtwitter https://t.co/gDZ6OAX3Sx
In the six weeks since the Taliban took over Kabul, life has changed in the Afghan capital.
New restrictions have been felt most by women: High school girls haven’t been allowed back to class. Female city government employees have been told to stay home. https://t.co/VVgOh5g490
