The Madden community just flipped out last week over a market cap on certain players. I am against that. That would completely and totally ruin any chance someone who chooses to not spend money on the game’s chances of making the stubs required to acquire the top tier rewards the game offers. I agree to disagree, but I feel that paying a company not sanctioned by the actual game to help you cut corners and gain an edge on those who play the game fairly is the very definition of cheating.
Correct. They are hoarded onto accounts that will have 50 million stubs or are generated using thousands of burner accounts. These stubs are not actually in market circulation by someone actively playing the video game. By adding a large influx of these stubs to people who will use them on the marketplace, this causes inflation far more substantially than pack odds.
I think the people at SDS do genuinely care. I think the problem is more about Sony as the parent company. SDS game developers are probably handcuffed and told what they need to do to recoup money from other games. Unfortunately it’s just the way sports games are trending. We see it with Madden and CFB this year too. Genuinely good dudes that care about the game on their development teams but they can only do so much before the leadership limits them
@Markymark1025@YourFriendKyle_ I agree. It should be lower priority and issues should be taken care of. Still, they need to be taken care of. My point was that the promotion of 3rd party sites are just as, if not more damaging to the game for serious players than software cheats.
@MUTHYPE@YourFriendKyle_ Thank you. The entire basis of the conversation is that the promotion of coin selling is just as harmful to MLB The Show, if not more, as cheating.
I am that way too. I enjoy making stubs/coins and being able to play with a good team when I get off work. I am good enough at the games that I play to be able to earn good enough rewards to be able to beat good players by having knowledge and skill at the games. I do not need to pay 3rd party companies a discounted rate to get good players to compete. Anyone who does this is knowingly violating TOS and should recognize that bans are possible. Some creators have not been transparent with that, which is disappointing. That said, avenues are available if you want to spend money to have a good team. I do heavily, heavily, heavily disagree with the price that it costs to do so, but if that’s how people want to spend their money, I am fine with that.
Nicely done. This conversation wasn’t about Madden, but we can talk about that. I didn’t buy the game this year and will not. EA wants you to spend money through ridiculous offers that are essentially gambling. SDS at least offers the ability to buy stubs and use them to purchase cards instead of just packs. Even the weekly platinum coin packs in Madden are gambling. If I’m going to gamble, I’m not doing it on Madden at this point of my life. I don’t care how people spend their money. I don’t agree with giving SDS money this year either and they have gotten worse in terms of NMS each year, but if people do, I don’t care. I have bought stubs from them, which is part of the game, years ago, full transparency. But, those stubs are accounted for and are priced the way they are for a reason. Not entirely just to make money (that is a big part of it though), but to keep the game balanced so that way not everyone can attain top rewards instantly that take HOURS of grinding for everyone else.
Roughly 5-10 minutes, I had the time. Just had to go back and fix one minor grammatical issue. I sure did! I enjoy their content. I don’t blame anyone for taking a bag. What I do take issue with is the idea that 3rd party coin/stub promotion is not as big of an issue as cheating. It is cheating and is very harmful to those who play the game correctly.
No idea Mr. Caprice. I am as angry as anyone with the product of the game this year. Genuinely some of the worst gameplay in the history of the franchise. Hopefully within the next 3 years the game will improve when/if a new engine is hopefully introduced. I’ll let you know how that goes.
I hate this thought process. Yes they should absolutely figure out how to crack down on the cheating, but because they haven’t doesn’t mean they shouldn’t crack down on the stub transferring it’s against TOS and to be quite honest it’s made the market so inflated this year.
I appreciate the response. If I made the money you did while promoting something I knew could get my followers banned I would be too ashamed to do so. Seriously, good on you for that accountability. I agree with you on that simple point. My point was not that you’re asking for sympathy, but rather what you promoted fucks the game just as much, if not more, as cheating does for those who play legitimately. I have played the game all year online 800 and above and have not ran into a single cheater. However, what I do run into EVERY game is people who have all the major collections done, which is something I have not even come close to accomplishing by playing the game NMS (grinding every program and making a few stubs from some roster investments.) Sure, that is an SDS problem and not a Kyle problem, but those collections are not meant to be easy and attainable, which they become once multiple large creators start promoting websites that make it easier for people to cut corners around those who have put hours into the game this year. It’s unfair and makes the game unbalanced. I will add that I have just as big of a bone to pick with those who give SDS their money directly when they provided such a shitty product this year, but that is part of the game and does not inflate the market the way 3rd party systems do. When you can purchase huge quantities of stubs for a fraction of the cost, it causes massive inflation that SDS has not accounted for, which is why we see cards cost so much this year that prices those who play the game the correct way out of the market. The bans were rightful and I look forward to being able to play the game this afternoon.
