Ambassador, as usual, thank you for this expose. The other things to mention are the monumental ecological and economic disasters that will occur if we drege the River Niger. First, due to salty sea water, there will be immediate loss of fresh water supply as well as perennial flooding because of tides. Secondly, aquatic lives, vegetation and livelihoods of millions of Nigerians whose economies were built around the river will disappear forever. The other thing to highlight is the fixation of most southeasterners on seaport as the basis for their economic prosperity. While one may agree that trading is a common vocation of many Igbo people, they must understand trading is not the only activity that brings prosperity. The most prosperous region in Nigeria is the southwest, the vast majority of Yoruba people are not traders, they are farmers and artisans, and it is upon their sweat that the southwest economy depends. Therefore, Ndigbo must look beyond trading and explore other areas in other to be as prosperous.
Dear Agu,
Thank you for your feedback. First of all, the approvals given were not for a 'seaport', but for a Deep Sea Port, which is an entirely different thing. All the states you mentioned, including Lagos, Ondo, Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, and Rivers, have access to the sea.
Secondly, these approvals were given to states and private individuals who applied for them. A few years ago, Alhaji Dangote also got a Deep Sea Port licence, and you may recall that I visited the Dangote port last year.
If Anambra has access to the sea and applies for a Deep Sea Port licence, it will not be denied one.
Thirdly, I have been to a Deep Sea Port. It is not possible to have one in Anambra State. For you to have either a seaport or a Deep Sea Port, you must have access to the sea. There is nowhere in Anambra that has access to the sea. And the same goes for all five Southeastern states.
Regarding Onitsha, whose market you referred to, as I said above, the Southeast is completely landlocked and, as such, a region with no access to the sea cannot have a seaport. However, to give Ndi'Igbo a sense of belonging, the Federal Government dredged the River Niger and built the Onitsha River Port, which remains idle to this day due to a lack of patronage and regional issues.
The Onitsha River Port has been commissioned three times. It was first commissioned by President Shehu Shagari in 1983 and has gulped over $100 million in Federal Government funds.
It is a White Elephant project. This means it is a project built for sentimental rather than economic reasons. A project that costs a lot of money to maintain but yields little to no profit or usefulness.
Despite the Federal Government spending over $1 billion to dredge the River Niger, ocean liners still cannot access it. It would cost at least $20 billion to dredge the River Niger enough to allow ocean liners to cross it temporarily. Please fact-check me.
And that money would be a massive waste, as nature would render the dredging obsolete in a couple of years.
The River Niger is a river, not a sea or an ocean. And dredging cannot change it from a river to a sea!
Agu, I hope you now understand why it is impossible to have a Deep Sea Port where there is no sea.
Thanks again, and may God bless you.

Seventy-five Third Anniversary Achievements That Will Guarantee President Tinubu's Reelection
A common refrain by the opposition over the last few months is to ask Nigerians, rhetorically, to name one thing they have benefited from the Tinubu administration. Being a man of facts, I decided to pick the gauntlet thrown by these elements.
In a week, President Bola Tinubu will mark his third anniversary as President, God sparing his life. Here are 75 achievements he has recorded that not only impact you as a Nigerian but also guarantee his re-election.
One: The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project has advanced into four states, out of nine, and has already reduced travel times and costs, as well as reduced traffic.
Two: Delivering twelve cycles of GDP growth, which has added $67 billion to our economy, moving us from a GDP of ₦269.29 trillion on May 29, 2023, when Asiwaju became President, to ₦372.8 trillion today.
Three: Nigeria has not had a trade deficit under President Tinubu. Whereas we had a total of 12 cycles of trade deficits under General Buhari, the reverse is true under President Tinubu. We have had 12 cycles of trade surpluses, including: ₦1.3 trillion in Q3 2023, ₦3.6 trillion in Q4 2023, ₦4.4 trillion in Q1 2024, ₦3.7 trillion in Q2 2024, ₦5.3 trillion in Q3 2024, ₦3.4 trillion in Q4 2024, ₦5.2 trillion in Q1 2025, ₦7.5 trillion in Q2 2025 and ₦6.7 trillion in Q3 2025
Four: For the first time since its founding in 1978, this is the first administration under which the Academic Staff Union of Universities has not gone on a nationwide strike. A four-year course under Tinubu is a course, not a curse!
Five: As a result, the number of Nigerian students studying abroad has drastically decreased. During the first quarter of 2024, Nigerians only spent $38.17 million on foreign education, experiencing an 83% decline from the $218.87 million spent in the corresponding quarter the previous year.
Six: On May 29, 2023, when President Tinubu was sworn in to office, Nigeria was Africa's largest importer of fuel. Today, we are the largest exporter of the product in West Africa.
Seven: In anticipation of the Middle East crisis, President Tinubu deployed 100,000 CNG conversion kits nationwide on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
Eight: To make Nigeria's economy less vulnerable to the vicissitudes of the global economy, President Tinubu signed Executive Order No. 9 on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, making compulsory the direct remittance of all oil and gas proceeds to the Federation Account, without any deductions. The immediate consequence of the Executive Order was an instant increase in allocations to all states and local governments in Nigeria by at least 5%. Likely more.
Nine: The Federal Government facilitated a Nigerian carrier, Air Peace, to secure daily direct flights to London, which crashed ticket prices on that route.
10: Apart from London Gatwick and London Heathrow, the Tinubu administration has secured bilateral air service agreements granting Nigerian airlines direct flight access to São Paulo, Brazil; Bogotá, Colombia; Entebbe, Uganda; Algiers, Algeria; and St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean, amongst others.
Eleven: Aviation safety has significantly improved under Tinubu, and there have been no fatal commercial airline crashes under this administration.
Twelve: The Tinubu administration has restored Nigeria's visa-free access to Ethiopia, which was revoked in 2022.
Thirteen: Nigeria's passport climbed to the 89th position out of 199 countries on the Henley Passport Index, up from 94 in 2025 and 98 in 2022.
Fourteen: On the diplomatic front, President Tinubu was hosted to a State Visit by King Charles III from Wednesday, March 18, to Thursday, March 19, 2026. This was Nigeria's biggest diplomatic feat since 1987, and resulted in a £746 million deal to modernise Nigeria's ports.

🎙️❤️ Roy Keane on the global celebrations after Arsenal F.C. won the Premier League:
🗣️ “I saw how Arsenal fans celebrated and thought… what have other teams been doing when they win the league?” 😳🏆
Keane admitted Arsenal’s celebrations felt completely different from anything he had seen before 🌍🔴⚪️
🗣️ “This felt special. Everyone around the world knew Arsenal had won the title — even people who don’t watch football.”
🗣️ “The celebrations worldwide were mental.” 🔥
He even joked that if trophy celebrations always looked like this, he would rather see Arsenal keep winning trophies than anyone else 😂👏
🗣️ “Because they give the true meaning of celebrations.
The red moon rose over England at last — and twenty-two winters of silence bowed before the cannon.
Proudly gooner... Budapest is red, double crowns 👑 👑
Uncomfortable Truth:
Everyone in the Obidient camp has a release clause if only APC finds them valuable enough to trigger - these kids are not guided by any lasting principle just like their boss. I assure you, if Asiwaju himself contacts Peter today, by the next hour, Peter Obi would be standing on the mandate.
Do not underestimate the "Power of Power."
Dear Nigerians (who mean well),
Do not let them demonise those helping to build our systems. We cannot be seen to always antagonise enterprise and entrepreneurs.
The men and women building this country must always get the support they need. And when they share their opinions, you are free to disagree, but it must never be seen as an opportunity to take down or destroy. Don't let others use you to undermine yourself.
We need development to happen at scale. This is a tough climate to build. Let's not be blind to our challenges.
TINUBU PATH TO NIGERIA PROSPERITY.....
last year Nigeria had a GDP growth of about 4%...
It's projected to be higher than 4% in 2026...
With a potential +5% in 2027....
One of the biggest fraud in Nigeria today is it's education..... If a thorough audit is perform on Nigeria educational system today.... It would be discovered that over 80% of those with degrees shouldn't have it....
It's alarming to see an educated person with his head intact asking a stone age question of whether " na GDP we wan chop"...
GDP is used to measure a country path to poverty or wealth...
If GDP growth is lower than population growth... That country would remain perpetually poor if nothing change...
If GDP growth at least double population growth over a sustained period of time then the nation is on the path to wealth....
That was the path taken by the Asian tigers to develop....
And that is the path being taken by Tinubu to develop Nigeria....
Instead of keying in.... Like those who mock Noah and his boat.... Wailers are ready to be swept away by their ignorance...
South Korea grew their GDP at an average of 8% in 28 years while population grew at 2% and developed..
Singapore grew their economy at an average of 9% for 25 years as population grew by 2.5% and developed...
It was same story in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and others...
Nigeria was close to it under Obasanjo to Jonathan.... Obasanjo maintained an average of 6% with population growth around 2.5%...
Under Jonathan it was 5.4% average... But was crumbling as crude price was crumbling...
Under Buhari GDP growth was an average of 1% while population growth was higher at 2.5 average..
If Tinubu had continue Buhari style of economics... Nigeria would only sink deeper into poverty with no hope of development ( but I will tell you why I supported Buhari for 8 years another day)...
At over 4% GDP growth under Tinubu... He just need to keep building on what he is doing now...
If Nigeria sustain these push ...those men giving birth to kids like p!g put themselves to check and Nigeria population growth reduce to sub 2%...
In the Next 25 years.... Tinubu would be remember as the leader who transformed Nigeria from a poor country to a developed country....
As Batists we would all be proud to be part of this great history....
Any leader who listen to Wailers will not develop Nigeria in 1000 years...

"Peter Obi will not perform like Tinubu. I don't like Tinubu, I'm a Christian, Tinubu is a Muslim and he ran on a Muslim-Muslim ticket. I voted for Obi and against Tinubu. But Tinubu is far better than Obi's presidency."
