@lajoserafin@TA_ED50 I totally agree with you! It is not at all surprising to hear this but definitely still sad to be living in the same circle over and over again. #UCR50@KatryaLy
Reading about the higher advantages for white athletes is upsetting but not surprising. Will POC ever get their opportunity? Will history always keep repeating itself? #UCR50@KatryaLy
@morti096@abhornUCRedu Hi Maira!
I agree with you on this. College athletes work their butts off and should be able to profit off their talent! They work too hard to not get anything. #UCR50@KatryaLy
I feel that universities do not have the best interest at heart when it comes to athletes and athletes on full-ride scholarships. It is such a controversy and it really should not be which makes me feel this way! #UCR50@KatryaLy
@gomezzkg@KatryaLy College sports programs need to give the same energy they give to men's sports. Women's sports don't get nearly as posted, covered and/or promoted as men's sports do. The attitude towards women's sports needs to be changed. #UCR50@KatryaLy
I think that it is insane that after the final regulations for Title IX were issued, they still established a three-year time frame to be compliant with the LAW! When are we ever given so much time to be on board with a law here in the US nowadays?! #UCR50@KatryaLy
@vrodr096@KatryaLy This is honestly such a great idea! Workshops like that can be really beneficial and it's a great way to get to know them at a deeper level! #UCR50@KatryaLy
If colleges coaches are such a huge part of their athletes success, why is race a huge problem when choosing them? Athletes should be able to advocate for their own have someone they feel comfortable with, coaches of color matter! @KatryaLy#UCR50
@mdes101@KatryaLy That’s a great question! Honestly it’s sad that there is a whole stigma created about how smart a college athlete is. I think the whole “jock” narrative is what plays a huge role in society and makes college athletes be put into those groups automatically. #UCR50@KatryaLy
Why is it presumed by professors that if you are an athlete, you are not smart? What conversations are happening behind closed doors to have a certain perspective on athletes. #UCR50@KatryaLy
@mdes101@KatryaLy I believe that students should be paid! With everything they go through and how they’re so talented, it should only be fair. Universities should be the only ones profiting off these students but the students themselves as well! #UCR50@KatryaLy
Chapter 6 stated that many college athletes face a lot of mental and emotional stress from dealing with the pressure of their sport. How have universities better supported their college athletes with resources in recent years to help them with this? #UCR50@KatryaLy
@lisscastrom@abhornUCRedu I totally am there with you! It was so surprising and jaw dropping to find out that COACHES made more money than their fellow peers who were at their college who are educators. It’s a sad reality that doesn’t seem resolvable any time soon. @KatryaLy
Why are college coaches higher paid in most states over faculty? What makes them to be more valuable than those that educate us for our future? @KatryaLy

@lajoserafin I totally agree with your statement. Prioritizing athletics over their scholars has become a huge problem for the sole purpose of all the money in brings in to the university, it’s sad. @KatryaLy
I genuinely feel that there should be no president role, it seems useless. Athletic directors seem to have the description of a "president" and WAY more when it comes to their athletic department. @KatryaLy#UCR50
