I feel that universities do not have the best interest at heart when it comes to athletes and athletes on full-ride scholarships. It is such a controversy and it really should not be which makes me feel this way! #UCR50 @KatryaLy

@gomezzkg @KatryaLy College sports programs need to give the same energy they give to men's sports. Women's sports don't get nearly as posted, covered and/or promoted as men's sports do. The attitude towards women's sports needs to be changed. #UCR50 @KatryaLy

I think that it is insane that after the final regulations for Title IX were issued, they still established a three-year time frame to be compliant with the LAW! When are we ever given so much time to be on board with a law here in the US nowadays?! #UCR50 @KatryaLy

@mdes101 @KatryaLy That’s a great question! Honestly it’s sad that there is a whole stigma created about how smart a college athlete is. I think the whole “jock” narrative is what plays a huge role in society and makes college athletes be put into those groups automatically. #UCR50 @KatryaLy

@lisscastrom @abhornUCRedu I totally am there with you! It was so surprising and jaw dropping to find out that COACHES made more money than their fellow peers who were at their college who are educators. It’s a sad reality that doesn’t seem resolvable any time soon. @KatryaLy

@lajoserafin I totally agree with your statement. Prioritizing athletics over their scholars has become a huge problem for the sole purpose of all the money in brings in to the university, it’s sad. @KatryaLy

I genuinely feel that there should be no president role, it seems useless. Athletic directors seem to have the description of a "president" and WAY more when it comes to their athletic department. @KatryaLy #UCR50
