#FileMaker devs:
Can we programmatically tell if a field has "Field entry" enabled in Browse Mode?
A scripted "Go to Next Field" enters field whether or not Field entry is enabled. Can we tell if active field is enterable? Or see which fields on layout are? (maybe AppleScript?)
Using this, we can also access the DOM elements of the web page in the Web viewer. This means that scraping and controlling the web page can be achievable via FileMaker.

VERY Inspired!
Based on this, we can specify the anonymous func to the 2nd arg of script step "Perform Javascript in webviewer".
Also include some libraries and use its method in this step. Even more we can get back the processed data via PerformScript.
@mrwatson_de That timeline makes sense in this situation. And yes, the previous developer set it to 0 minutes, which googling showed was more common in FMGo, though he added it to FMPro accts.
Thanks again

Dear #FileMaker people:
Does anybody know why a local file (on local computer, NOT on FMServer) might require a user to "sign in again to continue"?
FM18/FM19. Mac. There are no onTimer scripts.
@mrwatson_de@TaleEstaban Aha! Thanks @mrwatson_de!
The files have extended privilege: fmreauthenticate0
It's odd that we're only hearing of this in newer FMP versions since this DB's been used for years… but removing or increasing that ext priv DOES seem to fix it🙂👍
@mdenyse hmm… interesting…
This (inherited) solution uses standard data separation. The UI file DOES list the Data file twice(!), but both are just at "file:<fileName>", and the data and UI files BOTH get the "sign in again" prompt. The Data file has no EDSes.
Ever wish you could query or transform JSON w/o having to parse it first?

This is a companion article to my discussion with Jeremy Brown on The Context Podcast:

New limits on #FileMaker Data API use: FMS19.3 EULA
1.(d) "You cannot use the Data API as a client replacement. By way of example, if you intend to serve 10 users, you must purchase a 10 user license or concurrent connections license."
How much usage = "client replacement"?
「あなたは Data API をクライアントライセンスの代替手段として使用することはできません。(You cannot use the Data API as a client replacement.)」という記載は、もう少し条件を限定してくれないと、FileMakerのサーバー製品やData APIを使うのを避けようという動きにつながるだけでは?
I'm looking to consult with a #FileMaker developer with experience maintaining an FMP solution across a large number of international locations (ideally retail stores), on different macOS, hardware, & printers — & no local tech support.
Know of anyone I could talk to? (pls RT)
