@JoanneLynnNS Last year they did a switch with the fundraising pseudo newspaper of the QEll. I think it was a full week before the hospital noticed and pulled them out of their waiting areas
@Suzanne_Rent The question I would go to is whether HRM’s elected council would do this without the potential cash from Ottawa. A lot of this didn’t seem to be on the table until the money was offered. I will have to read your story.
@NovaScotiaESM Now if NS could donate sovereignty of a little bit of land by the Tidnish bridge to NB then the present decrepit bridge would be between two provinces and the feds could buy it and fix it…. I think you only need to move the border about 10 meters….
@LUrbaniste I wonder if this space is supposed to interact with the now building rink / event centre that it abuts. On its own this extended open space on the back of a building, which isn’t the only was to get to the interior spaces seems not to make much sense
Caught the replay at Cineplex of the Met production of Carmen. Lots of music that dips into the familiar. The setting is modern, the Tex Mex border. Carmen is crushed with a baseball bat. How should a modern production treat domestic violence. Should Carmen still be staged?
@karly_kehoe @ScotHistReview I wonder how multiple same source citations were counted within the same article. Multiple times might indicate influence. While same number spread across articles might not.
Just finished reading Keven Major’s 4 for Fogo. I was previously unaware he is a great mystery writer. A bit unconventional, local but not too local in his narrative, and captivating between great NS storm shovelling
Fantastic presentation by @cbuniversity student Robbie Hussey! His work w/ @tim_fedak on history/provenance of Cape Breton fossils that went to the 1867 Paris Exhibition helps us better appreciate way ppl in past viewed our geoheritage & reminds us that we should value it today.
@SymphonyNS@TownofAmherstNS I attended the same program of Symphony Nova Scotia last week in Halifax. The sound at Trinity St Stephen is a different experience. Fresher, richer and there is just so much more sound and depth to enjoy
