I talked to a super smart 20 year old this week.
All the potential in the world, but had a major major flaw in his thinking.
This flaw is becoming the most common mistake I am seeing young people make early in their career.
Let's break it down:
I run a newsletter called All Things Venture that's focused on highlighting a founder's journey at the earliest stage
I've interviewed +20 founders and in every interview I ask "What advice do you have for any aspiring entrepreneur?"
Here's what they shared🧵🧵
Big lesson of my 20s
I’m on God’s time, not my time
I’m exactly where I need to be, when I need to be there
Just keep pushing and taking shots. He’ll get me where I need to go
I don’t think we’re doing young people with big ambitions any favors by telling them they won’t need to work very hard.
To me it’s an example of being short term nice long term unkind.
It’d be better to focus on how to take great breaks, boundaries, finding work you love, etc.
Do you think that this 2022 wave of layoffs + steep sell-offs in the tech markets (Netflix, Redfin, so many more) is representative of the 2000 dot-com bubble crash?
