No. I think children fascinated him but not for that reason. His childhood was absolutely destroyed by his father, his brothers, his fame and I fear by the very thing he was accused of.

It definitely made him a bit odd but suprisingly, not in a bad way and I am certain he did not become like the monsters he may have encountered.

We had to go off property in the late 80s. Thankfully there was a pizza place right near the entrance to the school's main lot. We would gather there before first bell and after last bell before we loaded onto the busses.

The owner probably made a good bit of money off of us and not just from slices. He had a cigarette vending machine and most of us just bought them there. We could buy them in stores most of the time, they didn't really give the older teens much of a hassle but that machine was a sure thing.

Age makes a huge difference here. At 10-11 it was Inspector Gadget and another cartoon I don't recall. At 12-13 there was a great block of old reruns on for a couple hours, Gilligan's Island, Hogan's Heros, The Monkees, Bewitched and The Munsters. A couple years later, I got into soaps (General Hospital).

@miles_commodore Onion. Ever since I was a kid. My husband has been on an onion/sausage/black olive kick lately and that's a nice combo but my absolute favorite is just plain onion, thinly sliced and generously applied.
