@Braden_Keith Maybe don’t remove, but tee up stories to air during B finals? Athletes overcoming odds, comebacks after injuries, scholar athletes who exceed at both etc. Current ncaa athletes can tell you that missy stayed w/club team, Phelps kept neg quotes in locker, lochte flipped tires.

@Braden_Keith The B final debate is easy for people who are fans of the sport: more is better! I’m in this camp, but B finals are not helping the sport sell itself to a fading audience.The swim world wants more coverage but rejects any change!

@kylesockwell Mix in human interest stories about sacrifice, comebacks, etc. Better than *yet another post race interview* with superstars like G Walsh - just watching amazing feats in the pool don’t draw in new fans like showing people what a day in the life looks like.

@kylesockwell Run 2 pools at once to bounce between M&W. Air A finals and spliced highlights of anything over 200 w full swims available online after to drive viewership&ticket sales. Add award for swimmers who final in 3 events to drive training, these champs good for visibility/fans.

@CoachErikS Worth noting that not every team did this. A top SEC swim coach told team that he could probably find a faster version of most of team in the portal or from international recruits but he’d lose one thing: YOU. Said he didn’t recruit a time, he recruited a person. A light.

@CoachErikS My son was cut by an SEC swim program on March 5, one month before this case went to trial. The roster was cut to a whopping 9 (anticipated cap is 22); incoming freshmen cut from 11 to 4. I assume coaches wanted to shop the portal. Not worth naming team, all coaches did this. 1/2

@CoachErikS 2/2 SAs are being treated like the stack of extra napkins you grab from McDs: you only need a few but extras are nice to have just in case…stashed in the glove compartment so they’re handy if needed…at the end if the year they get tossed during that annual car clean.
