Aside from the blatant one sided officiated game, Messi seemed to say something offensive to the Egypt bench. Egypt players react, one draws the VAR symbol and the coach throws up the anti racism symbol which should have started an investigation. Instead coach gets a yellow.
Also Taylor looked incredibly explosive off the dribble, and I thought she showed the perfect instincts to just keep shooting. We need her offense down Rickea. Big Z was solid as always, she complimented KC so nicely. I don’t think this season is finished yet… #Skynation
Tough @Sky loss today, but honestly there were some positive takeaways. Feeding Cardoso early was really effective even against Aja, really seems like KC has turned a corner. It helps having Sloot back, she had one assist that had me thinking it was 2021.
I’ll be setting aside my differences with the Knicks. No grudges held as a Cavs fan, it was tough after game 1 collapse. Rooting for Tyler Kolek to get a ring #itsbiggerthanbasketball
@DorDaine@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies I think my problem is that people love to take an opinion and immediately associate it with a similar but not identical opinion that they’ve heard before. I believe we should not limit the right to vote, especially unconstitutionally. People who push limiting others are clueless.
@DorDaine@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies Kinda weird behavior. You engage in a discussion I was having with someone else and say that now we cannot have this discussion. I’m not even making an argument to you just stating my opinion. I really don’t have to do anything.
@DorDaine@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies I’m not here to say that 17 is a good line to draw. I think if you can work you should be able to vote. I do not think every poor person is a net negative to the government. Our values shouldn’t be entirely tied to how much money we have.
@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies I really urge you to do some research on the topic. If you completely cut all aid for hunger then there certainly would be many people who starve. Soda isn’t the only thing being purchased.
@DorDaine@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies I understand there’s a desire to raise the threshold. I just want everyone to think about how dangerous an ideology that is. I do not think being poor is a good line to draw. There are far too many examples of people w little $ that contribute greatly to society.
@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies Personally I’d love if everyone in the country ate as healthy as possible. But I do not care what people get with their stamps. I just care that everyone in our country at least has the opportunity to live. We all have to eat and it’s every day.
@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies This is often used as a point against food stamps, but it shouldn’t be. The number 1 seller for grocery stores by total revenue is soda. That’s regardless of food stamps/non food stamps. People buy a lot of soda. Americans just simply put drink a ton of it.
@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies I disagree with the unbalance part. It shifts demand curves for sure, but the system isn’t unbalanced. As for inflation, it’s estimated GDP grows at 1.5x every dollar into SNAP. That is significantly outpacing inflation in terms of its contribution to the economy.
@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies I fear you do not understand. You think creating fake money with no value tied to it with the intention of deceit is the exact same thing as vouchers for food for people who need it?
@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies I’ll humor you if you’re genuinely curious. It’s not magically turning 1 dollar into 1.30. (The number is closer to 1.6). It’s a measurement of economic activity. The premise is that these funds are spent quickly in the local economy. Drives up income for agri and circulates $.
@TABYTCHI@B82Scottie@PolicyWook@GraniteMoose@reddit_lies Food stamps are one of the most efficient ways the government spends its money. They stimulate the economy especially at a local level. Having help given to you is not the same as taking it.
