I've been sharing this amazing picture on Zoom class visits — kids remote learning during a polio outbreak in the 1940s. Schools shut and teachers read lessons on the RADIO. We're facing such challenges today, but as I tell kids, we've faced them in the past and gotten through.
ONLY WHEN IT'S SAFE: The risk to the health and well-being of our students, staff, and community is too high. The BCEA cannot, in good faith, support a return to in-person instruction at this time.

@StarUltranova @dlbgyd @GovMurphy@NJEA@NewJerseyDOE How about this “special memory”? https://t.co/cQ8hE4fECX .It’s not just about the kids in the photo, it’s about who they will infect before they show signs of being sick.
#SafetyFirst - We need our children, the staff, parents and the community SAFE! Phase school open in stages just like the rest of the state. Our children’s lives shouldn’t be a gamble!
@GovMurphy Thank you for all you have done for our state. As per schools, shouldn’t we open in phases as has the rest of the state. P1- Remote Learning (cross every t, dot every I), P2- Hybrid, P3- back to school? It makes sense. Rushing back is a waste of time for all and unsafe
If you've come to our events, you have probably encountered our local Batman. Sometimes even Batman needs team support. Let's help him rebuild his suit so that when we are open again we can celebrate together! Please share!

I don't know who needs to hear this, but teachers are not babysitters.
Also, being expected to risk their health and the health of their families should come with hazard pay, not budget cuts.
As week 3 of school closure draws to a close, we thank our parents, students and staff for continuing to rise to the challenge! Our students are learning, being provided nourishment, and feeling supported by our staff. Thank You!
