JSPHCDA, SMOH & Lafiya-FCDO held the Quarterly PHC Coordination Meeting yesterday, 18 Sept 2025, in Dutse. Key stakeholders & PHC Managers reviewed progress, tackled RMNCAEH gaps, and adopted actionable steps to strengthen PHC services in Jigawa.

Jigawa Gov. Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA commissions renovated Chamo PHC in Dutse LGA, fully equipped with modern facilities.
Supported by UNICEF & FCDO under CRIBS Project, the initiative also upgraded other PHCs & primary schools across selected LGAs. #JigawaHealth

Today in Dutse, JSPHCDA in collaboration with partners held a one-day meeting with HPOs from 27 LGAs to strengthen ACSM strategies ahead of the October 2025 MR vaccination campaign. Chaired by Alhaji M.A. Bulangu, with key partners including WHO, UNICEF, & others.

Yesterday, Jigawa Deputy Governor Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel began supervision of PHCCs in Jahun LGA (Aujara, Gunka & Kale) to assess services, note challenges & improve care.

Guided by Dr. Shehu Sambo & officials, this reflects Gov. Umar A. Namadi’s commitment to stronger PHC.

Danger Signs in a Newborn Requiring Immediate Medical Attention

✓Parents and caregivers should be vigilant for the following danger signs in newborns:

•Difficulty breathing
•Fever or low body temperature (hypothermia)
•Difficulty feeding or persistent vomiting

•Lethargy or reduced activity
•Convulsions or fits

•Signs of local infection, such as a red or pus-draining umbilical stump

•Jaundice (yellowing of the skin, especially on the palms and soles)
•Excessive crying

The House of Reps Committee on Health, led by Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji, visited Jigawa to assess BHCPF use in ward-level PHCs, guided by Dr. Shehu Sambo, ES JSPHCDA.
They commended HE Umar A. Namadi, FCA, for strengthening PHC services across the state.
