People voted to put religion (Christianity) back into the school system while voting against making students have a free breakfast & lunch. Saying a prayer in school while refusing to feed the poor will always speak to the highest form of hypocrisy for Christians & progressives.
To everyone who is afraid of what happens next, I share your fears. But what we do next is important.
We have to learn from what happened. And then, make a plan. As we confront a second Trump presidency, here’s a path forward: 🧵
People can analyze, hypothesize, blame Dems till they are blue in the face. None of it matters.
This is the game right here.
Misinformation works. Those that believed misinformation voted Trump. Those that believed the truth voted Harris.
There is NO candidate that can change this.
Republicans have a well oiled propaganda machine that spans all media platforms and we do not.
Period.
In the coming days there's gonna be a lot of opining about what the Harris campaign did wrong, but this election was not an indictment of Kamala Harris. It was an indictment of America.
maybe im just a partisan hack but i think sending a murderous horde to the us capital was a bigger threat to democracy than not being allowed to suggest horse paste to treat covid on facebook
We’re living in a world where violent crime is down but much of the public thinks it’s up.
Where the economy has improved and is doing very well across a range of metrics, but much of the public that has benefited from those improvements feels otherwise.
Where the Justice system is fairly applied to Democrats but not to Trump, but there’s the perception that Democrats have weaponized it against Republicans.
Where Democrats are the party that rejects antisemitism from all sides but there’s widespread propaganda that it’s Republicans, the party led by an antisemite, that care about Jews.
Where Democrats are the party of NATO, and responsible leadership on the world stage, yet much of the public trusts the party that would embolden Putin and bend the knee to dictators more on foreign affairs.
This is an upside down world fueled in part by a flood of propaganda, misinformation, and lies coming from right-wing media and bothsidesism from the mainstream media.
After we defeat Trump, we need to get to work to fix this information environment. Our democracy cannot survive let alone flourish under these circumstances.
The fact that Jan. 6th happened, and we all saw it with our own eyes, and still Donald Trump wasn’t shunned from society forever… it will never not be insane to me
It is the honor of a lifetime to join @kamalaharris in this campaign.
I’m all in.
Vice President Harris is showing us the politics of what’s possible. It reminds me a bit of the first day of school.
So, let’s get this done, folks! Join us. https://t.co/tqOVsw2OLM
On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country.
I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination.
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
