@GregBerge Totally agree this is a losing mindset. A coach should always be laser focused on what his team can control and become. Win or lose focus on being the best version of yourself. This comment sets a tone that whining and blaming is acceptable.
"There is no physical pain, no anguish of soul, no suffering of spirit, no infirmity or weakness that you or I ever experience during our mortal journey that the Savior did not experience first." -David A. Bednar
This elementary school surprised their ‘superhero’ custodian with an appreciation party and his reaction is overwhelming 😭😭
This is awesome. I love this story ❤️
In Times Square, the billboards went dark—then lit up with a message of hope: Jesus Christ is the reason for Christmas. A glowing Nativity reminded us He was born for each of us—to bring peace, purpose, and healing. Share this message with someone today.
The Lord is preparing His Church and His people, those who bear His name, to receive Him. As part of our preparation for His coming, He will lift each of us so we may rise to spiritual challenges and opportunities unlike any seen in the history of this world.
How, then, can each of us participate in this work of such magnitude and grandeur?
When we take repentance as a joyful opportunity because of our growing faith that Jesus is the Christ, when we understand and believe that Heavenly Father hears our every prayer, when we strive to obey and live the commandments, we grow in our power to receive continuing revelation.
The Holy Ghost can be our constant companion. A feeling of light will stay with us even as the world around us becomes darker.
As we pray and grow our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and our Heavenly Father as our loving Father, we become a vital part in the Lord’s work as He prepares the world for His Second Coming.
The funeral of Russell M. Nelson, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was held today, Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. President Dallin H. Oaks and Elder Henry B. Eyring, who served as President Nelson’s counselors, joined two of the prophet’s 10 children — daughter Laurie N. Marsh and son Russell M. Nelson Jr. — and Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson to pay tribute to the prophet’s life and teachings.
Our hearts are heavy with sorrow. Millions of us are mourning the passing of our beloved Prophet and President, Russell M. Nelson. He was a dear friend and a cherished leader.
His timeless teachings continue to guide us and help us find comfort amid suffering, especially in the wake of the recent violence aimed at members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Michigan this past Sunday.
The awful tragedy that took place in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on September 28, reminds us of our sacred responsibilities as followers of Jesus Christ. We mourn with our members who have lost loved ones, and we join in prayer for comfort with others around the world who are suffering from similar tragedies.
We all seek answers and understanding in the wake of trauma, shock, and grief. We are grateful to all who are reaching out with service, prayers, and words of support during this difficult time.
May we all remember the truth that each of us is a beloved child of God. Our Savior Jesus Christ, through His infinite Atonement, overcame death and gives us the joyful assurance that each of us will be gloriously resurrected.
On behalf of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I extend this expression to the family and friends of those affected by this recent tragedy and all others who may be experiencing loss and heartache at this time.
Of note, Bear Bachmeier will become BYU's first Asian American starting QB.
Bachmeier's mother April is from Thailand.
And his Dad Mike was a Marine and went to the Naval Academy.
Gustav Häkansson, nicknamed "Stilfarfar" ("Steel Grandpa"), was a Swedish cyclist who became a legend for his grit and stamina in his 70s. In 1951, at 66, he was denied entry to the Sverige-loppet, a tough 1,000-mile bike race from Haparanda to Ystad, because he was over the 40-year age limit. Unfazed, he rode the race anyway on his old bike, sporting a homemade bib with a red zero. Starting a minute after the last official rider, he biked without support, sometimes going three days without sleep. He finished first in 6 days, 14 hours, and 20 minutes—24 hours ahead of the official racers. Häkansson lived to 101, passing away in 1987.
"Being humble means recognizing that we are not on earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much difference we can make in the lives of others"
-Gordon B. Hinckley
Do you know your strengths? Sometimes we get so caught up in what we can't do, that we forget what brought us to the dance. Dennis Rodman and Kyle Korver are three examples of athletes that knew their strengths. Imagine if Dennis Rodman's focus was to practice 3 pointers? Imagine if Kyle Korver's was to practice dunking? Imagine if Tom Brady's was to work on his 40 yard dash time? They knew their strengths, and Dennis Rodman played professionally for 19 years, Kyle Korver for 17 years, and Tom Brady for 20 years!
