NCAA Title contenders burning years of eligibility will never sit right with me.
Remember - this kid beat an NCAA Champion WHILE HE WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL.
There’s no D1 program that wouldn’t take him right now. In fact many of them would pay a steep NIL to secure him.
Pretty cool note I got from a tech CEO/founder who watched NCAAs about hiring wrestlers:
“I'll say this: without question my favorite hiring profile is a D3 All-American wrestler. You competed in the darkness. No lights, no crowd, sometimes literally no one watching. You showed up anyway and you figured it out. Give me 10 of those guys and they're worth 50 fancy Ivy League degrees. Every time. The mat doesn't lie.”
Thoughts?
@AOWrestling@_wrestlersgrind Beyond being a wrestler I cheer for, and being up two weights. In today’s times it’s unusual to have a kid stick things out when they don’t go his way. He’s the feel good story of the tournament. You should be proud. Congratulations!
It’s just wrestling.
On January 4th Gabe Arnold wrestled in the finals at the Soldier Salute at 174 pounds.
Less than 10 days later Iowa would lose Endene off the roster, and Ferrari sidelined due to injury shortly after.
Arnold filled in at 184 until Ferrari’s return, then moved up to fill the hole at 197.
He came into the NCAA’s the 27 seed and is now an All-American.
Cal Baptist couldn’t even wait for the NCAA Championships to end.
An email sent to wrestlers confirms the CBU wrestling facility is now closed, with athletes given just one hour today (4–5 PM) to retrieve their belongings.
The season isn’t even over.
Another embarrassing example of leadership from @DrMicahParker and @HorrocksSID.
@GilbertDurinho@CharlesDoBronxs No one wants to see him lay on another fighter for 25 minutes and I’m a wrestling fan…that’s just not in the spirit of the BMF
Well I suppose I learned last summer that life is short, definitely too short for holding grudges. So when @GamebredFighter said he wanted to sit down and break bread of course I took him up on it. Today he came to Wisconsin, sat down had some dinner and chatted it up. Turns out we have more in common than different 👊👊👊 Felt great to bury the hatchet and make a new friend. Life is too short to hold grudges, bury hatchets and move one with your life. So glad Jorge was able to come to Wisconsin today.
In a world of woke Team USA members like Hunter Hess & Amber Glenn trashing America at the Olympics, be a Tamyra Mensah-Stock.
“I love representing the U.S. I freakin’ love living there. I love it, and I’m so happy I get to represent USA!”
