@humphriezz@e_brailsford The highlands didn’t actually fight much in those wars, they were mainly lowlanders like Wallace, some clans did help on request, particularly the isles, but the highlands remained largely peaceful and isolated.
@LA_Bernadette27 They’re probably booing because they made it all about them, (Celtic!) instead of joining in with the national celebration, that, or they were just hearts/rangers fans lol.
Wouldn’t take it too seriously.
@kingjordofcots@AmyyyRosee Yeah that’s a tricky one. GSTK is the nations anthem. But if Scotland and Wales can use their own folk songs or hymns to instil national pride then why not the English.
@WillKingston Seen him on this morning today, it’s a deliberate change to be more relatable to everyday people imo. He actually spoke well and wasn’t like a robot.
@paddytoland@JimAllister And you think the middle ground are giving up all their unique perks like duel market access, duel passports, public sector jobs/pensions, NHS, 5th largest economy in the world, Irish and British 🇮🇪 🇬🇧 identity etc?
Behave yourself.
@kingjordofcots@AmyyyRosee Absolutely nothing to do with the national anthem. It’s a good anthem too, it gives me goosebumps because it’s who we are. 🇬🇧
You just don’t sing your folk songs, you focus on pop culture etc the Scot’s are very much a proud people and that’s reflected in the songs they sing.
