All of the people in the story are female and scared.
Meanwhile the person from the board (who I imagine doesn't work after 6pm) and "happens" to be male is "listening"
Saying it louder for those at the back... IT IS NOT OK FOR FEMALE STAFF TO BE SCARED LEAVING WORK
Staff working at two hospitals at an "isolated" site on the edge of Edinburgh have said they do not feel safe with its new car parking scheme.

Absolutely shameful @NHS_Lothian. My anaesthetic trainee wife is now reliant on taxis (~ £15+ each way) for shifts where she finishes late - of which there are a lot. Closest bus route to our flat is a 20 min walk across the meadows - sadly just not safe in the dark.
Yesterday I worked a 12.5hr shift in ICU. Staff are no longer allowed to park on site so I had to go to the park and ride. I arrived at 9.30pm, I was alone, it was dark, there were groups of young men in their cars. I never want to be in that situation again 😢 @NHS_Lothian
This morning please spare a thought for NHS staff who - at exactly the same time you did - found out last night from @BorisJohnson they’d be delivering 1 million boosters a day from… today.
It's been one yr since the first mRNA COVID-19 shot was administered.
While it's a huge relief to be vaccinated here, it's incredibly frustrating to see global inequity persist - and it's clear what needs to happen.
Hoping this thread helps explain why we demand #VaccineEquity.
@DrBenLovell As the FY1 doing nights over Christmas last year at @RIE_Lothian I certainly felt much more festive with our Christmas cookies! This is a lovely touch for your juniors 🎄
In some countries, COVID has resulted in weird division about who is 'healthy' & who has 'underlying health issues.' 'Acceptable' & 'unacceptable' deaths. People w/asthma, cancer, hypertension, diabetes, overweight, heart disease -> they're our family, our friends, our community.

Please get vaccinated. We’re still seeing very sick pregnant women with Covid. Often their babies are born prematurely as a result.

Efficient service at the @RIE_Lothian vaccine centre. Went in last night at 8pm without an appointment - two of us got both a flu jag and covid booster and out within 10 minutes! 💉
The government promised us 6,000 more GPs by 2024.
But there are actually 1,904 fewer fully qualified FTE GPs now than there were in 2015.
Please RT so everyone can be aware.
We understand some people are frustrated - we are too. But let’s hold the right people to account.
@kirsty_lennon @fearghalobrien I’m with Fearghal here - they’re a good chance to do some acute and interesting medicine. The HAN team are awesome and you’ll be very well supported - there’s always people you can ask for advice. Also a mid-shift cup of tea/snack goes a long way - good luck!
A huge study, peer reviewed, which reinforces existing evidence that the benefits of Covid vaccines far outweigh the risks for the vast majority https://t.co/uFpE2d8L0n
A beautiful sunset on Tuesday night over @NHSBorders - my last day after 4 months in the BGH and last day of FY1! An amazing experience, made all the better by working in the hospital I was born in. Now off to FY2 and some slightly smaller patients.. 👶🏼 @mededborders
@kirsty_lennon Keep your chin up Kirsty, it’ll get better! Everyone feels like that on the first day but you’ve got this ☺️ Remember the nurses are a great source of knowledge and CCOT if you’re worried about anyone!
@niall_donaldson @AbbieDunn27 My first job of FY1 was Paeds Surgery - the play specialists are amazing, I’d always get them to come along and help when doing practical procedures/bloods etc. And always have some stickers in your back pocket for some light bribery! 🌟
Spared?
This is an act of desperation, as cases skyrocket.
Over 1500 health & care workers have already died from Covid.
How do you think we feel about potentially bringing it into our workplace to infect our patients & colleagues?
