Hunch is that anyone attempting to do so would see as much, if not more, social opposition along the Mexican border/interior after decades of maquiladora presence.

Sign In with ChatGPT is the immediate/obvious smart move to begin to close it.
A lot of territory up for grab, and others better suited to claim it.
I am going to try and answer a bunch of questions that people have raised about Sign in with ChatGPT in the next couple of days. Before that, I want to let you all in to why we shipped Sign in with ChatGPT (SIWC) in the first place. Clarify our intentions here before getting to the specifics.
In post-agent world, feels like Google Drive needs 4 core permission states:
1. Public external
2. Public internal
3. Private, agent accessible by default
4. Sensitive, not agent accessible by default
Today we’re launching @indexnetwork_
It’s been exciting to watch already. The first 100 people in are hiring founding engineers, raising seed rounds, writing speculative fiction. One said accepting an intro “feels like the early magic of the internet.”
Try it for yourself: https://t.co/QXepmjtM2L
The premise: With Index, personal agents can coordinate with each other and thus introduce the right people to their users. They do this by negotiating on their principals’ mutual intents, replacing the need for us to broadcast on platforms and scroll endless feeds.
In practice: You log what you're looking for (“signals”) by talking to your agent, it negotiates on fit with the others, and comes back to you with proposed intros for you to accept or pass on. It learns from each turn to surface more relevant people for you.
As founders, but also just as internet nerds - we feel the expectation to be constantly visible. It can be empowering but also tiring, especially when there’s little certainty in how algorithms will route the right people to see your post. On the market level, economists call this search friction: the idea that many deals are never made because it costs too much to find each other. We call it the right person, wrong time.
So that’s why we’re building Index - we’re keen to see what happens when we take social discovery out of the feeds. It’s possible now because of agents. They can help carry the burden of searching, shouting, negotiating, and coordinating in service of finding your others - and we’re so excited to see how this works in the wild.
We’re building this for a world where you can trust that the right person is not out there, but right around the corner. In fact, we even made a short film about it.
My dear friends, I’d like to show you my latest toy project
Introducing Handwired: turn your regular JavaScript code into a neural net!
- no training
- exact outputs vs the JS program
- fully differentiable
All runnable in a browser, without GPU
We use “auth” to mean both authentication and authorization. That works when most actors are humans, who are embodied and can be held accountable. Agents break this norm. The difference will start becoming extremely important.
Early Italian Renaissance predates Gutenberg's moveable type/printing press by ~a century, and can't be said to be a causal reaction to the innovation ┄ but the press more plausibly amplified later Renaissance ideas.
This is an understudied historical relationship:

OP is very confidently making a claim that's historically specious/false.
The Renaissance was an immune response to the first information overload crisis, triggered by the printing press. We are about to experience the same thing, only as a response to the slop overload crisis—and it will be incredible
Might be just me and my time spent in industry, might be the vibe of the times, but I find myself much more impressed by projects that make things smaller, cleaner, more elegant rather than larger and more distributed. Less code, less PRs, less text. Good compression is an art.
“Chief of Staff” agent is a short lived phenomena
You want roles. It actually circled back to RBAC.
None of this shit is new. People have just done a very good job dressing it up!
