Hidden in a shady spot at the site of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse is this spider-web covered tribute to North Carolina's three signers of the Declaration of Independence: William Hooper, Joseph Hewes and John Penn.
None of them fought in the battle or were from Greensboro, but the remains of Hooper and Penn were moved here when the Guilford Battleground Company established the national military park northwest of town. (Hewes died in Philadelphia and was buried in the Christ Church Burial Grounds; not enough of his remains could be found to relocate to the official North Carolina memorial.)
Here's the story of the three signers by my friend @warrenbingham.

Murders plummeted more than 20% from the year before, the single-largest one-year drop on record — and 2025's might be the lowest murder rate in the U.S. since 1900, a new study found. https://t.co/e9VlIsEzXN
Watched this 50 times. Might be the most devastating political ad in decades.
And it's a completely self-inflicted wound by an arrogant, smug candidate who's quite put out having to lower herself to even appear on the same stage as her opponent
